Check Out the Stampin’ Schach Changes

Stampin' Schach changesSome are noticeable – some are not – but the new year has brought changes to The Stampin’ Schach! Probably the most noticeable is the free tutorial button.

large romantic cardIt appears in blog posts which feature a card. These tutorials are step-by-step guides for creating the card shown that day.  I hope you will enjoy and use these tutorials.

I have also worked on updating the categories which appear as menu items.  Please click on the links, and read all about me, my group, my new rewards programs, how to join my group as a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, and more.  And notice, there is also a card tutorial gallery where you can access all of the cards I create throughout the year, along with the free tutorial.

These changes have taken some time to implement.  At times like this, I think I sure could use an assistant other than the four legged kind, who have a tendency to sleep on the job.

Watch for the details about these coming up in the next few days.  I hope you are as excited about these changes as much as I am!

A Friendship Card for PP424

It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players! This week, the lovely Anne Marie has a beautiful color challenge for us:  Grapefuit Grove,  Pool Party, Daffodil Delight, and a color of your choice.  I used Whisper White as my fourth color.  Isn’t this a yummy combination?

I used a variety of framelits and the Butterfly Gala bundle to create today’s friendship card.  Enjoy!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

These are such gorgeous spring colors together.  I opted to make Grapefruit Grove the primary color, and accent with Pool Party and Daffodil Delight.  The card base is actually Pool Party, but I wasn’t happy with how it looked next to the piece of Nature’s Poem designer series paper I had selected.  I happened to have a piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock which had been embossed using the Subtle embossing folder sitting on my table from a previous project. When I held it up next to the designer paper, I knew I had a winner.

friendship cardAfter I started writing up this post, I noticed that the colors of the card, as I photographed it, were “off”, even after color correction.  Grrr!  I hate it when that happens!

friendship cardThe sentiment is from the Forever Lovely stamp set.  It was inked in Calypso Coral, and cut out with this gorgeous framelit from the Wonderful Floral Framelits collection. Daffodil Delight organdy ribbon was woven around the edge of the die cut.  This ribbon can be yours for FREE (along with 4 other lovely colors) with a $50 purchase during Sale-A-Bration.

friendship cardThe Butterflies, from the Butterfly Gala set,  were inked in Tranquil Tide and stamped onto Pool Party.  They are a snap to punch out using the Butterfly Duet Punch.  The larger one is resting on a lattice (Eclectic Layers Thinlit collections).   A few Daffodil Delight sprigs (Frosted Bouquet Thinlits collection) add a touch of color.

Humorous Card for #FF0025

humorous card

What better way to start off a new year of challenges than with a touch of humor!  After all, laughter is the best medicine, so the saying goes.  I have a friend and fellow stamper who is undergoing major surgery, with six months of recovery time facing her.  I thought this humorous card, which also features stitching, would be a day brightener.  What do you think? Enjoy!

humorous card

Isn’t this little fella cute? I snipped him from a sheet of Stampin’ Up!’s Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper.   The rectangles were die cut in a snap,  using the new Rectangle Stitched framelits, available in the Occasions Catalog.  (If you need a paper copy,  just let me know.) I hope you enjoy today’s humorous card.

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

Today’s card is all about the layers!  Layering has never been easier because of the new Rectangle Stitched Framelits.

humerous card

Sometimes the neatest images are found in the patterns of the designer papers, and so it is with this adorable sloth.

humorous card

The sloth was snipped out and “popped” up on dimensionals.  Inked in Berry Burst,  the sentiment (from Hanging Garden) was accented with snipped out leaves and a cheery little bird.  A single rhinestone adds just the perfect touch of sparkle.

Hopefully this humorous card will brighten up my friend’s day.  What do you think?

You may have noticed a new feature in my posts – the “tutorial button”! Clicking on the Fresh Fig button below will take you straight to a step-by-step tutorial, which can either be saved or printed off. I hope you like it.
