Today’s card is clean, simple and fit for a celebration! It’s Sunday, and time to play in The Paper Players 500th Challenge!

Can you believe this is the 500th challenge for The Paper Players?  Yep, the Paper Players inaugural challenge was June 7, 2010.  Can you believe it was TEN years ago!  For a trip down memory lane, here is the original post: The Paper Players First Challenge.   And guess who was the very first Headliner?  Here is my winning card:

By Challenge #9 I was a Guest Designer, and then was invited to join the team.  We’ve come a long way since then! Many things have changed, and styles have come and gone, but our format has stayed the same. And according to our schedule it’s Clean and Simple week, hosted by the fabulous Queen of Clean, Jaydee!  In honor of our 500th challenge, Jaydee has selected a Celebration theme. Remember, by Clean and Simple, we are looking for:

Minimal layers and embellishments

Plenty of open space, aka “white” space

Simple and uncluttered projects

So grab those stamps and inks, and come celebrate with us! We can’t wait to see what you create!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

Today’s card makes the most out of the Many Medallions die and a classic navy and white color scheme. The die cut was trimmed down, matted onto Whisper White cardstock, and popped up on dimensionals. While I used the confetti sentiment from the So Sentimental stamp set, this quick and versatile card could be anything you want it to be, simply by changing the sentiment.

Rhinestones on every other medallion and a double bow complete the look.  Can you say easy-peasy?

Triangles Thank You Card

Looking for a card that can be used for so many occasions just by switching out the sentiment? How about a card which can be made in a multitude of colors? If so, today’s triangles thank you card may be the card for which you are searching. It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players!

This week the fabulous LeAnne is hosting our monthly color challenge. What a lovely trio of soft colors she has selected for us:  Smoky Slate, So Saffron, Seaside Spray.  I decided to play with one of the new die sets from the  Annual Catalog, Stitched Triangles.  What a fun collection!  I hope you will join us in this week’s challenge. We can’t wait to see what YOU create!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

Today’s card is a change from what I usually make – there are no flowers or ribbons!  However, it is full of texture, since I could not resist reaching for my new favorite embossing folder, Tasteful Textiles.  I also had fun playing with the Stitched Triangles dies.  I backed the spaces with Seaside Spray designer paper.  Because the geometric look was rather bold, I went for a bold thank you sentiment.  In retrospect, I wished I would have used a smaller sentiment.  But as they say, hindsight is 20 – 20. On the other hand, I do think this is a really versatile design, and I have a couple of ideas up my sleeve for it, which you will probably see in the very near future.

Floral Friendship Card

Are you looking to brighten up someone’s day? This floral friendship card will do the trick. It’s time to celebrate at Festive Friday challenges!

For this week’s challenge,  we are inspired by the International Day of Friendship.  At Festive Friday, you do not need to actually celebrate the occasion.  Your goal is to simply use three or more items from the inspiration list on your project. I selected friendship sentiment, pink, green, flower, sparkle, ribbon, die cut, and embossing from this week’s Inspo List.  I hope you will join us in our challenge this week. I can’t wait to see what YOU create!

The Stampin’ Up! Design Tips

For a relatively simple card, there are lots of fun details on this one.  I am in love with the new Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder, which I used on the white panel.  And what about the scalloped die cut? How nifty is that!  After coloring the flower with Stampin’ Blends, I liberally coated it with Clear Wink of Stella.  I felt that just a few Elegant Faceted Gems and a simple double bow were all that were needed for accents.

After I created this card, I decided the bow was a bit too much, so I carefully removed it and added an extra Elegant Faceted Gem, as you can see below. However, I let my husband choose which picture I should feature, and he picked the green bow version.  Which one do you like best – bow or no bow?
