Do you need a card to celebrate an important milestone in a special couple’s lives?  How about this “golden” anniversary card?  Whether it’s anniversary number 5 or number 50, this card is a perfect way to show them you care. It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players!

This week Laurie is hosting our monthly theme challenge:  Wedding/Anniversary.  I used the Forever Fern bundle to create today’s card in Very Vanilla with gold accents. However, the colors could be easily switched out to create a card to match a couple’s chosen hues.  I LOVE making wedding and anniversary cards, and I can’t wait to see what you create!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

The stunning Forever Gold Laser Cut paper takes center stage on today’s “golden” anniversary card.  In order for the leaves to really stand out and not become lost among the gold lattice, I created a banner backdrop.  The Dainty Diamonds 3D embossing folder creates a subtle pattern and adds texture.

A simple “Love” sentiment was all I felt was needed. I wanted something elegant, in script, and this sentiment, from Forever Blossoms was perfect. Of course, bows and gems complete the look. (Note: This gorgeous gold ribbon is part of the Boho Indigo product medley.)

Flowers and friendship go hand in hand, don’t you think?  With today’s easy Peony Garden floral friendship card, I’m back to doing one of my favorite things – pairing a stunning floral paper with a sweet sentiment. It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players!

This week,  Anne Marie has a fabulous sketch for us. I’ll admit, I’m not usually one to add diagonal elements to a card.  I’m more of a right angle kind of gal.  However, I LOVE the way Anne Marie tucked the diagonal layer behind the main panel. It’s perfect for showcasing coordinating designer paper, for which Stampin’ Up! is so well known.  I can’t wait to see what you create as The Paper Players begin our journey to the next 500 challenges!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

Peony Garden is one of my favorite designer series paper collections from Stampin’ Up!’s  Annual Catalog. The floral pattern I used today can be the star of any card. I lightly tinted it with Stampin’ Blends, (the details are in the free tutorial), and added a few Champagne rhinestones. And how about the Paver pattern paper from the In Good Taste collection, which was used in the diagonal piece? Doesn’t this entire layout remind you of walking through a garden on a paver pathway?

As I was cleaning out my stash last week, I happened to find an old sparkly Gelly Roll pen, which was perfect for outlining the flowers, as you can see in the photo above.  A double Petal Pink bow was all that was needed to complete the card. Quick…easy…and fit for the finest friend!

Muffy Speaks

Hey, Mom’s stampin’ friends! It’s been such a long time since I have talked with you. Things have changed here at my home. I have two new puppies, Sixx and Nueve, to teach the ways of the pack.  They definitely keep me and Mom busy.  They are so silly!  And, my brother, Brody, is still with us. His sleeps are getting sounder and longer these days, and my Mom has to shake him to wake him up.  He has fought valiantly over the past years, and he still eats and potties well. But I catch my Mom crying often, and I hear her talking with him, telling him that he has been a brave boy, and to let her know when he is ready to leave.  It saddens me to think of my life without my womb-mate.  And it saddens me to know how sad my Mom will be when we have to say good-by.  But for now,  I ready myself for what I know the future holds, and I cherish every day I have with my brother…Muffy and Brody

If you know someone who could use a little pick-me-up, how about this Forever Fern friendship card?  It’s time to play at Festive Friday Challenges – home of the Inspo List!

For this week’s challenge,  we are inspired by National Ice Cream Sandwich Day.  At Festive Friday, you do not need to actually celebrate the occasion.  Your goal is to simply use three or more items from the inspiration list on your project. I selected sweet sentiment, pink, brown, vanilla, circles and die cut from this week’s Inspo List.  I hope you will join us in our challenge this week. I can’t wait to see what YOU create.  And if you would like to celebrate with an ice cream sandwich, that’s all the better!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

I had so much fun creating today’s card! I used a sketch from a previous Paper Players challenge, and added lots of little details, including a gold hoop.  I used glue dots to attach it, simply placing them in areas which would be covered.  While I tried a variety of ribbons, I decided to use the gold ribbon which is part of the Boho Indigo product medley (153132). I then topped it off with a gold twine bow, using the twine from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack.  The gold ribbons coordinate so nicely with the gold laser cut leafy frond, which is used as a backdrop for the ribbons and cluster.

To add interest, the sentiment was stamped onto designer paper, and cut out with a Stitched Shapes die. Of course, I could not resist adding a few Champagne rhinestones.
