Moose and plaid make me glad, and I hope they do you, too. Get ready for today’s Merry Moose card. It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players!
This week, Anne Marie has an “Into the Woods” theme for us. She is challenging us to create projects which feature “woodsy” elements like woodgrain paper, wood texture, trees, cabins, forest critters, plaid and more. I went with plaid, trees, and a very recognizable forest critter in creating my Merry Moose card. Enjoy!
Colors of the Day
The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
The background on today’s card was created by sponging the night sky area with Night of Navy, Balmy Blue and Highland Heather inks. The tree images were stamped multiple times using Shaded Spruce and Pretty Peacock inks.
Sparkle Glimmer Paper snow drifts were hand snipped and layered. Pretty Peacock ink was sponged onto the edges to make the separate layers “pop”.
What about those touches of gold? The pine boughs, left over from a previous project, were die cut using the Beautiful Boughs dies. As for the moose, punching it out is so easy! Gold Glitter Dots and a gold double bow were the only finishing touches this card needed.

Rustic charm with the perfect pop of glitz and glam! You did it again Ann! Absolutely gorgeous!
beautiful card… love that plaid and gold foil moose!
Gorgeous background!!! Love your use of gold.
Your wintery scene is amazing…that sky is fabulous, and your touches of gold really make this something special! Your moose should consider himself lucky to be so elegantly adorned!
Ann, this is just marvelous! I love that big , gold moose the plaid and all that shimmery snow! Just WOW! Such a gorgeous scene! Have a great rest of the week! XX
Beautiful card, Ann!
Gorgeous background you created for that golden moose! Love the gold elements and plaid!
We don’t really have moose here in the UK so he doesn’t feature in my collection, but boy Ann did you do a fabulous job of putting him front and centre on your card! I love the scene and all those fabulous gold details co-ordinate with my favourite plaid perfectly. A wow woodsy card for sure!
Such a deliciously warm and rich design, Ann … the shimmer and shine from the gold is just gorgeous! Thanks so much for your visit and kind words! Anita 🙂
LOVE LOVE it! especially all the GOLD!
You had me with the plaid and the gold! Wow, this is such a fabulous winter scene!
God and plaid..two of my faves! Love this…so festive!
Very pretty card with the shiny gold foil! You gave me an idea to use a deer since I don’t have a moose.
Pretty as always Ann–love it!
Beautiful & elegant card Ann!
I was not going to get the moose bundle. I just didn’t think I needed it. Well, after playing with the set at a friend’s house and I was quickly warming up to the set. I think you just pushed me even closer to getting this bundle. It is fun to play with but darn your card is so rustic but elegant! I love it! The sky is so intriguing with the sponges colors. I want to try this. Of course the plaid is a big favorite as well. I think this will be an expensive card for me since I don’t have the bough set but it looks so elegantly on there. I need the moose bundle as well and I think you used the stitched rectangle dies (I will read your tutorial thoroughly) as well as the ribbon. Such a rich and elegant card. I love the fact that there is no sentiment on the front as it could be perfect for a winter birthday card. Love this.
This is one amazing card, Ann! Wow! Love all the little details that make it that much more stunning! I’ve never thought to sponge the edge of the sparkle paper. It really adds another element of dimension. Beautifully created, Friend!
Thank you for the PDF, Ann. Your card is stunning with the gold. I’ll be CASEing! Have a great day.
What a wonderful card! Your inky stamped background is so dramatic against the gold metallic papers! Gorgeous work!
I love this moose card! Thanks so much for sharing the card and the instructions. This card made me smile.
