Snowman Easel Card

If you are looking for a winter card which is not your ordinary fold,  how about this fun Snowman Easel Card?  It’s time to play at Festive Friday!

Snowman Easel Card

This week, we were inspired by National Button Day.  Your goal is to pick at least 3 choices from our Inspo List and incorporate them on your project.  I selected fabric, circles, and fun fold.  I hope you will join us in our challenge this week. I can’t wait to see what YOU create!

I’ll admit it. I don’t do a lot of fun folds because I find them scary. I know, I know. This is just a Z fold type easel card, but I had never tried one before because I thought it would be hard. Pffft! Was I ever wrong. It was not only easy, it was fun. I guess that is why they call them FUN folds!  Be sure to click on the tutorial button to get all the step-by-step details, along with measurements, on how I made this card.

The card base was simple. It began with a 4-1/4″ x 11″ piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock, scored at 5-1/2″ and folded.  The easel section was 4″ x 10-1/4″,  scored at 2-1/2″ and 5″.

I used patterns from the Let It Snow Specialty Designer Series Paper collection to adhere to the sections.

Snowman Easel CardI decorated the larger section with Sparkle Glimmer Paper snow, tree, and snowflakes.

Snowman Easel CardThe snowman takes center stage. He was snipped from the designer paper, and “dressed” in felt pieces from the Let It Snow embellishment kit.  He is standing in Sparkle Glimmer Paper snow.  Once again, the details can be found in the tutorial.

It’s AWESOME! I purchased it as a preorder item, and to be honest, I was a little hesitant to do so. Sorry, Stampin’ Up!, but I was never a fan of our older trimmer. (I was still using my retired guillotine cutter for most of my cutting.) However, I sometimes need a Paper Trimmer, so I thought I would give it a try. Oh. My. Gosh. I LOVE it! I find myself using my new Paper Trimmer more and more, and my old cutter less and less. The cuts are clean, and not fuzzy. Order your new paper trimmer today and experience it for yourself!
