Thanksgiving Card and Lexi’s Diagnosis

Are you like me, and need a Thanksgiving card (or two) to send out to family and friends? If so, why not create this textured beauty? With minimal stamping, this Thanksgiving card is all about layers and die cuts. It’s Friday, and time to celebrate at Festive Fridays – Home of the Inspo List!
Thanksgiving Card

For this week’s challenge,  we are inspired by Thanksgiving.  Remember – at Festive Friday, you do not need to actually celebrate the occasion.  Your goal is to simply use three or more items from the inspiration list on your project.  I used a thankful theme, burlap, twine, leaves, wood and pumpkins on my card this week.  I can’t wait to see what YOU create!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

If you have a little time on your hands, there is nothing difficult about today’s card. It’s basically layering paper – you can find the measurements in the tutorial – and die cutting leaves, a fence, and a pumpkin. It’s even easy to create the sentiment, since it is punched out using the Classic Label Punch.  The rest is just embellishing!

I have been remiss these past few months in answering emails and mailing out packages.  I apologize. My dear sweet Lexi has inoperable cancer. She has a fist sized tumor at the base of her bladder.  After discussing it with her specialist, we have decided to let her enjoy her remaining days here with her pack, being surrounded by those who love her.  She is on the same protocol that has extended Brody’s life, and we are hopeful it will allow us to have many more wonderful days, weeks, months and maybe even years, with her. It has taken me some while to work my head around this, as I go through the stages of grief, and my mind has not been on stamping.  Take care, my friends, and hug your fur babies…

If not to be, I pray it’s a peaceful death with family and pack around her. She knows she’s loved. that’s what counts. And you are doing everything humanly possible to let her lead a good life. That’s all our fur babies want from us, a g0ood life, lots of kisses, hugs, belly rubs, and of course we mustn’t forget treats! I’ll keep you all i98n my prayers.

  10. What sad news you have shared with us today!!! I know how dear your dogs are to you! I’m so sorry you’ve had two with cancer! Animals are part of the family and I know it is so difficult for you at this time! We had two dogs who were shot only a few days after my husband died and it was devastating, especially for the children! I send you love and hugs! Thanks for you car sample today! I know it must have been difficult for you to concentrate on that.

  12. You really created a beautiful Thanksgiving card! I’m so very sorry about Lexi. We love our furry family members and it is so difficult to go through these times when we know there isn’t much we can do about it. We lost our first one in 1994 and then the second about 11 years ago. I still miss them! Sending hugs and prayers for you and Lexi!

Our fur babies are part of the family and we grieve for them just as for other family members. My thoughts are with you and your family in the days ahead.

  18. Oh…..now I am weeping……she is soooo special. She looks just like Thor only a smaller version and not quite as grey. I have always had a soft spot in my heart for her ever since I met her. Hugs my friend.

Sorry to hear about Lexi. Sending many prayers.

  20. Sending my thoughts and prayers your way for Lexi as well as for you and your family! Enjoy each and every day with her as I know you already do. I have a Fur Baby (my Manx ~ Sweet Pea ~ 15yrs old) that has a medical condition and wonder how much more time she has with me before I have to make a certain decision that would be in her best interest. Until that time, my gaze lingers longer on her at times and kisses/hugs/cuddling are enjoyed that much more each and every day. We LOVE our Fur Babies and they are truly a member of our families. We are so blessed to have such love in our lives that give us comfort and joy and in turn we do the same for our Fur Babies. Sending HUGS!

  21. My two fur babies, General Catton and Eleanor, Queen of Norway, and myself send you many ? and kitty kisses. Lexi is in good hands and will feel your soothing love and care until the end, which we hope is far away. Please take care of yourself as well.

  30. Ann, what joy your card and pic brought me this morning. She is a beautiful girl…those ears! I’m sorry you received such heartbreaking news. I’d hug my fur baby but Lord Chesterfield does not even like being picked up. He wants to be petted when HE wants it only. But then, again, cats get whatever they want whenever they want. I hope get to fully enjoy some memorable times with your fur babies.

  31. Hello Ann: I’m so so sorry to hear about Lexi, that picture of the two of you is a perfect example of the love that you feel for each other.

I’m hugging my fur baby now, she’s sitting on my lap as I write this note, she’s a beautiful black kitty named Ivy, she is almost 3 years old.
    Stay healthy and safe.
    Sending lots of love.
    Maria.
