Another Round for Your Birthday

How about another round for your birthday? It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players.

Another Round for Your BirthdayThis week, the talented Anne Marie is hosting our theme challenge.  What a fun theme she has picked for us: Food and/or Beverages!  Today I am showcasing one of the bundles from the recently released Annual Catalog called Brewed for You.  This bundle contains a cute variety of glassware with coordinating dies, and was perfect for creating a birthday card for one of our friends. He actually brews his own beer! I can’t wait to see what food and/or beverage you showcase on your card!

This is one of my favorite layouts for showing off the new Dots & Spots die.  I LOVE polka dotted paper, and  thanks to Stampin’ Up!’s new Dots & Spots die, I can create polka dotted paper in any color combination I want. It was a breeze to create this Daffodil Delight and Merry Merlot panel for today’s card.  A mug and a glass, filled with frosty beer, along with a glass of merlot, form a fun focal point. The sentiment was die cut out using a Stitched Rectangle die, and matted on top of a die cut banner made with a Stylish Shapes die. Easy peasy!

Nueve’s Notes

Hi, Everyone! It’s me, Good Boy Nueve!  Boy, have I got news.  I got shot. Mom took me to Dr. Rita, and she gave me a shot in my neck to protect me from Dee’s Zeesas.  I was a good boy, though. I didn’t move at all. When we were done, I got a treat.  I found the pocket where Dr. Rita keeps them,  and she gave me another one.  People who work for Dr. Rita kept poking their head in the room, and telling me how handsome I was, and what a good boy I was.  I felt really special.  When we left Dr. Rita’s, Mom and Dad took me to the park. We had fun!  We got to sit on the slide. I look gigantic in this picture because of how Dad took the picture.

another round for your birthday

We also had our picture taken by a big rock.  Mom said someone named Pike raised a flag here in 1805.  It was the first time anyone raised a flag in what would become the state of Iowa.  Mom said this same man later had a whole mountain named after him in a place called Colorado. I thought that was kind of funny.  Here he has a rock. There he has a whole mountain.

Another Round for Your Birthday

When we got home from the park, I made a new friend. It was a funny looking bug.  I wanted to play with it, but it must have been tired.  It didn’t want to play.

another round for your birthday

I thought it looked like it was holding little flags.  I named it Pike, like the man from olden days who raised the flag in the park.

another round for your birthdayI also got to play show dog last weekend with my friend, Michelle.  I got more ribbons.

another round for your birthdayI got to go back in the show ring a second time that day, but Michelle had to take another dog in, and couldn’t take me.  So, I got to go back in with Stacy.  She is nice.  Her mom took our picture. You can’t tell it in this picture, but her shirt was really sparkly. She was feeding me treats. I like her. Her dog is named Panda.  He is HUGE! He’s a Saint Bernard.

another round for your birthday

Well, I have to go. Mom is telling me she has more things to write.  Maybe I can help her. After all, I am a working dog.  I am Good Boy Nueve.

Pink and Gold Birthday Card

I love making cards for my friends. I can’t wait to send out this pink and gold birthday card to someone who LOVES girly-girly things! It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players!

Pink and Gold Birthday cardI have the pleasure of being your hostess this week. Because this is the fifth Sunday in a month, we all know what that means! It’s time for Tic-Tac-Toe!  I have a very fun board, with a little bit of everything for everyone. I hit all the boxes, except for slimline, with my feminine birthday card in pink and gold.  I can’t wait to see what YOU create!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

Sometimes cards with many elements look difficult to make.  But you know what? They really aren’t. They just take a little more time is all, and in the case of this card, cranking through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine!  I used the floral and grid Chic dies and the dainty floral stem Honeybee Blooms dies, placing them all on the same piece of matte finish Rose Gold paper. They were die cut in one fell swoop. How easy is that! The only stamping was the single Petal Pink blossom, and the gold heat embossed sentiment. The label die from Stylish Shapes fits the birthday sentiment from Wildflower Path perfectly!

Nueve’s Notes

Hey, everyone! It’s me, Nueve!  I got to go the Big Park again.  You know, the one by the Missy Pibby Ribber!  It was super hot, though, and there were lots of bugs.  They were awful.  Mom wanted to get our pictures taken by a really old bench, with fuzzy green stuff growing on it, but the bitey bugs were really bad.  Mom said they were “Moeskeetos”, but I think bitey-bugs is easier to say.  We ended up sitting on a bench in the hot, hot sun.

It was so hot that my mouth dripped all over her.  Luckily, Mom brings water for me.  She gave me a drink from the bowl she carries in my bag.  I thanked her by giving her a BIG Boxer kiss.

When we got home, Mom gave me some Frosty Paws to help me cool my insides. It was really good!

pink and gold birthday card

It tasted like peanut budder. I ate it all up by myself.  Mom didn’t have any. She said Frosty Paws was a special treat just for good dogs like me.  After all, I am a working dog! I am Good Boy Nueve!

Cute Floral Friendship Card

What better way to celebrate National Best Friends Day than with a floral friendship card? It’s time to play at Festive Friday – Home of the Inspo List!

Floral friendship card

For this week’s challenge, we are inspired by National Best Friends Day. Remember, at Festive Friday you do not need to actually celebrate or make a card for the occasion featured. Your goal is to simply use three or more items from the inspiration list on your project. I used feminine, pink, friendship sentiment, patterned paper, ribbon and dry embossing to create my card. I can’t wait to see what YOU create!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

The Tea Boutique designer series paper collection isn’t just about tea cups and tea pots! It has some delightful floral and print patterns, too.  These adorable little blossoms, paired with Petal Pink gingham print, is sweetly feminine, and just perfect for this floral friendship card.  The Swirly die cut, from the Painted Labels die set, creates a wonderful backdrop for the scalloped sentiment circle.  I find myself using this circle die cut often.  It is from the All That die collection.  Blossoms, which were fussy cut from the same pattern as the banner, were used to accent the sentiment.  With a few iridescent pearls and a snippet of Parakeet Party ribbon, it makes a cute embellishment.
