Remarkable You for The Paper Players

IMG_2721It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players! This week the sweet and talented Jaydee has a theme challenge for us: Create a Square Card.  How easy is that? I have a wedding coming up, and I needed a card.  Because my own wedding bouquet decades ago was made of calla lilies, the Remarkable You stamp set, with its calla lilies image was my choice.  Because the image is so simple, I decided to keep the card relatively clean and simple, too.  I hope you enjoy today’s card!

This finished card measures 5-1/4″ square.

  • Gitteriffic! The “wow” factor on this card comes from Dazzling Diamonds glitter.  The calla lilies were water colored using Aqua Painters and Blushing Bride, So Saffron, and Pear Pizzazz inks. The blossoms were then outlined with glue and the glitter was applied. Other touches include Crystal Effects on the So Saffron pistil, and gold embossed spatters.

  • Not your average brick wall! The Brick Wall embossed panel was also “glittered” for a touch of sparkle.

  • Sequins! Blushing Bride Sequins were used to accent the double Whisper White satin Bow.

Lexi and I are spending the weekend in Marion, IL, attending the Crab Orchard Kennel Club dog show.  Hopefully we will have good news to report when we return home late Sunday night. Lexi is a great traveling companion.  This will be the first time I’ll be away from Jack and Kia since they were 5 weeks old. I will miss these little scamps!

IMG_3720What do you think of today’s card? I can tell you, it is much prettier in person than it is in the pictures. The glitter really sparkles! Won’t you let me know what you think in your comment? Your comments are important to me! Of course, if you ever have any questions about the cards I create, or the techniques I use, I am only an email away! Until next time…

What’s Happening at…

It’s a busy week here at The Stampin’ Schach. Lexi and I will be heading to Morris, IL on Friday for a weekend of dog showing.  Of course, this means Lexi will be having a pedicure and a bath before we start on the 5-1/2 hour drive. Luckily, I was excused from jury duty, or I wouldn’t be arriving in Morris until after midnight.  Ugh!

Jack and Lexi know the importance of sharing…and so do I. Once again I will be offering my Holiday Catalog Shares.  Watch for details as we get closer to the end of August.

Jack and Lexi share a hoof

Speaking of Jack, he certainly is going to be a big boy!  Here is his paw compared to my hand, and my husband’s hand.

FullSizeRenderJack was enjoying having his ears massaged last night, and fell asleep.FullSizeRender-2Isn’t his head so sweet?

FullSizeRender-3In the meantime, I will be working on my Paper Players card for Sunday…and I will be working on my August newsletter.  Yep…August will be the month of my rebirth.  The puppies are getting much more independent, and so is my retired husband.

As always, if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to email me! Until next time…

Timeless Love for The Paper Players and Founder’s Circle

IMG_2703It’s Sunday…and time to play with The Paper Players! This week, the talented Sandy has a fun sketch featuring a tag  for us.  Who doesn’t love making tags? I know I do! I inked up the Timeless Love stamp set and pulled out the Pretty Petals designer paper and got to work creating. I hope you enjoy today’s card.

This finished card measures 4-1/4″ wide and 5-1/2″ long when folded.

  • You make my heart smile! The sentiment was inked with Memento ink and stamped onto Very Vanilla cardstock.  The floral image was colored using Calypso Coral, Lost Lagoon, and Mossy Meadow inks and Blender Pens. Rhinestones decorate the centers of the flowers and the small punched heart.

IMG_2703-001

  • Tag…you’re it!  The tag was created with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and decorated with strips of Pretty Petals designer paper.

IMG_2703-002

  • Coordination!  One of the fabulous features of Stampin’ Up! products is how well they coordinate. I never hesitate when mixing and matching designer paper from the same collection.  With today’s card, the patterns are united by color! And what about the touches of gold?  Gold foil and gold sequins add a touch of elegance.

IMG_2703-003“You make my heart smile”. What a beautiful sentiment!  If you are reading this, you DO make my heart smile.  I am so grateful to have loyal stamping friends and customers. Because of you, I earned Stampin’ Up!’s Founder’s Circle again this year. Founder’s Circle is an honor given to the Top 100 demonstrators in the United States and the Top 20 demonstrators in Canada.  I can’t believe I will once again be sitting alongside those whom I consider to be stamping royalty…people whom I idolize…this September when we travel to St. George, Utah.

ImageProxy.mvcThis is the last year Founder’s Circle is being held, and I feel blessed to be going.  It was a “day-brightener” at a time when I needed one. With storm damage to pay for, with a return of my back problems, and with two puppies at an age where they need attention, training and socialization, I was unable to attend Convention.  As much as I wanted to go and see my friends, my heart and my head (and my back) knew my place was at home this year.  Sometimes one just has to accept the reality of the situation.  So…you can imagine my surprise when I started receiving texts from my friends who did attend, telling me I had earned a spot in the Top 100.  With my focus centered on puppies the past five months, I am truly, truly surprised and humbled.  I could not have done this without my loyal customers, many of whom are like family to me, and without the members of my team, on whom I can always count.

Earning Founder’s Circle has rejuvenated me.  I am ready to once again return to my stamping roots…posting more often, doing more videos, offering more lessons and tutorials, and most importantly sharing my passion for stamping with others.  By watching the “kids” and helping around the house, my newly retired husband will be freeing up valuable time I can use to pursue my passion….but first I have to get through jury duty next week!  So watch for changes starting in August!

I was very pleased with how today’s card turned out.  I think it has a wee bit of a Deco flair.  Maybe it is the colors or maybe the font. What do you think?  Won’t you let me know in your  comment today? Your comments are important to me.  Of course, if you ever have a question about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away. Until next time…
