FF0015: Embossed Thank You

embossed thank you card

It’s time for the Festive Friday Challenge, where every challenge is a party! For FF0015, we are celebrating International Dot Day (September 15) with an Embossing Folder twist. You can create a card celebrating dots, or you can create a card or project that uses an embossing folder, or you can combine both! Whatever way you decide to create is fine with us! We would love to have you play along!

Embossed Thank You Card

For today’s challenge, I opted to do the embossing folder twist using the Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  You might remember this folder from my previous post.  It will be available when the Holiday Catalog goes live on September 5th.   I thought the coffee pot image, which reminds me of a vintage granite coffee pot,  was perfect to use with this folder.  I hope you enjoy today’s card.

The embossing folder takes center stage on this card.  When couple with the new Galvanized Metallic paper, available September 5th, the results are stunning, and very, very vintage.

The flowers were colored using Stampin’ Blends, and then snipped out.  A small pearl adorns the center of the larger blossom.

The coffee pot was also colored using Stampin’ Blends.  An adorable little oval bearing the sentiment “Thanks” adorns the front , while a snippet of Very Vanilla lace embellishes the top rim.  Also of interest is the Galvanized Clip with Braided Linen Trim bow, both of which are found in the new Holiday Catalog.

Stamp Review Crew: A Vintage Varied Vases Card

vintage varied vases card

It’s time for the Stamp Review Crew: Varied Vases Edition! If this is your very first visit to one of our hops, the Stamp Review Crew is a group of international Stampin’ Up! demonstrators whose mission is to do a blog hop on the first, third and fifth Mondays of each month. Our hops are unique because each of us features the same stamp set used in a variety of ways, giving you loads of inspiration for that set. The hops are archived at the Stamp Review Crew blog. You will be able to click through each hop at any time, going directly to the posts for that hop whenever you want. This week we are featuring the Varied Vases stamp set. If you are following along in order, you have just arrived from the talented Nikki Spencer.  After visiting me, you will continue to the next stop, the creative Lou Kitzelman.  Be prepared to be inspired!

Vintage Varied Vases Card

Varied Vases is a set which is definitely very versatile. From clean and simple to layered and lacy, this set can handle it all.  Since I am feeling pretty vintage myself these days, I decided to put a vintage twist on this set by using Galvanized Metallic Paper and the Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  Both of these items will be available in the new Holiday Catalog which goes live on September 5th.  I hope you enjoy this vintage Varied Vases card!

Vintage Varied Vases Card

vintage Varied Vases

Nothing cries “vintage” more than old tin tile ceilings. The small country grocery store where my family shopped at when I was a child had tin tile ceilings.  Later in my life, a gorgeous Victorian home which had them in the kitchen made the “short list” of homes we were thinking of buying.  I was thrilled when I saw the Tin Tile Dynamic Embossing Folder in the Holiday Catalog.  Coupled with the new Galvanized Metallic paper, it adds a distinctive vintage flair to any card.

The trio of vases was punched from Very Vanilla cardstock. The floral images were stamped in Basic Gray, and colored using Petal Pink, Pool Party and Highland Heather inks. The branches were die cut using the thinlit from the Petals & More collection.

The long Stained Glass border thinlit adds a Craftsman flair.  Very Vanilla 5/8″ Polka Dot Tulle and Very Vanilla 1/2″ Lace Trim was woven through the slats.
