friendship card

It’s time for the Festive Friday Challenge, where every challenge is a party! For FF0012, we are celebrating Friendship Day with a Yellow twist. You can create a card to celebrate Friendship Day, which happens to be August 5, or you can create a card or project that has the color yellow, or you can combine both! Whatever way you decide to create is fine with us! We would love to have you play along!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

I actually created two cards using the same layout.  The first card features a fun pattern from the Delightfully Detailed Memories & More Pack, while the second card features a floral pattern from the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper.

Friendship Card

Both of them use a sentiment from the Eastern Beauty stamp set.  “Cheater” bows and rhinestones are the only embellishments.  After all, with papers this pretty,  there is no need to add a lot of extras.

I love the bold design of the first card, and the feminine elegance of the second.

friendship cardThis layout is perfect for any paper and coordinating ribbon, and it is definitely quick and easy.  I know I will be creating several more of these for my friends using the gorgeous papers Stampin’ Up! offers.

The Challenge Twists

As mentioned earlier, Festive Friday is a challenge with twists.  If you do not wish to create a Friendship Day project, you could create a card or project featuring the color yellow.  We offer alternatives for every challenge.  Plus, if you play along with us, you will be earning Fest Points which can be redeemed for items such as tutorials (including the tutorial for today’s card), retired Stampin’ Up! products, design team cards, and even a spot as a Guest Designer! But remember:  To earn Fest Points, you need an account on the challenge site. Just click on login/register on the challenge site to get started.

To see all of the inspiration our Design Team has created for you, head on over to Festive Friday Challenges!

Annual Catalog Page 20

friendship card

Botanical Bliss was one of the first bundles I placed on my Annual Catalog Wish List, and one of the first ones I purchased. There were  two reasons why.  One reason was the “friend” sentiment which was included in the set.  The gorgeous tags which could be created with the Botanical Tags Thinlets were the second reason.  This elegant friendship card features both the sentiment and one of the thinlit die cuts.  Enjoy!

Today’s card involves heat embossing, die cutting, and stamping off.  None of these techniques are difficult…merely time consuming.   Difficulty Level:  3 out of 5

Stamp Review Crew: Tropical Chic Edition

Tropical Chic

It’s time for the Stamp Review Crew: Tropical Chic Edition! If this is your very first visit to one of our hops, the Stamp Review Crew is a group of international Stampin’ Up! demonstrators whose mission is to do a blog hop on the first, third and fifth Mondays of each month. Our hops are unique because each of us features the same stamp set used in a variety of ways, giving you loads of inspiration for that set. The hops are archived at the Stamp Review Crew blog. You will be able to click through each hop at any time, going directly to the posts for that hop whenever you want. This week we are featuring the Tropical Chic stamp set. If you are following along in order, you have just arrived from my good friend,  Mike Funke.  After visiting me, you will continue to the next stop, the talented Charlet Mallett.

Tropical Chic Thank You Card

Tropical Chic Thank You

There’s no doubt about it … Tropical Chic is one of my favorite sets from the new Annual Catalog.  The coordinating paper, with its lush colors, imparts the feeling of being in a tropical rain forest.  With the coordinating dies, no fussy cutting is needed. I hope you enjoy today’s card.

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

The Leaf Cut-Out Die makes creating a background as easy as a tropical breeze.  I layered the Granny Apple Green panel over a simple Gray Granite dotted pattern from the Tropical Escapes Designer Series Paper pack for a quick and easy background that packs a punch.

Tropical Chic Thank YouA cluster of Blushing Bride blossoms, a Granny Apple Green leaf, and Shaded Spruce die cuts provide a striking focal point.

Tropical Chic Thank You

The simple dotted designer paper is the perfect canvas on which to stamp the sentiment, don’t you think?

Tropical Chic Thank YouI was so smitten with this set that I had to CASE one of the catalog samples for one of my On the CASE cards.
