Red and Green Holiday Card for #PP422

It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players! Today, sweet Joanne has a color challenge which is perfect for the holiday season!

Red and Green Holiday Card

I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to create a Christmas card in traditional hues of red and green, accented with gold. I hope you enjoy this red and green holiday card.

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

I’ll admit it. I love today’s card. This is such a pretty color combination.  The gold foil plays well with both the red and green, lending it warmth.  And what can I say…the Swirls & Curls Textured Impressions Embossing Folder adds such beautiful texture.

This card is a snap to make!  Here are the details:

  • The card base is a piece of 4-1/4″ x 11″ Thick Whisper White cardstock, which I scored at 5-1/2″.
  • Using the Detailed Deer thinlits, I cut the deer out of a piece of 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ Gold Foil.  I then adhered this piece to the card base, and saved the deer.
  • The Shaded Spruce layer is 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″.   The Real Red banner is 3-7/8″ x 1″.   Both of these pieces were embossed with the Swirls & Curls folder.
  • The designer paper panel is 2″ x 3-5/8″, matted onto a piece of 2-1/8″ x 3-3/4″ Real Red cardstock. It was adhered to the card base using dimensionals.
  • The deer is “popped” up on dimensionals.
  • Five red rhinestones add a touch of bling.

On the CASE: Poinsettia Christmas Card

Poinsettia Christmas Card

Nicole and I are back On the CASE working through current Stampin’ Up!® catalogs, breaking down gorgeous samples step-by-step, and providing you with free tutorials so you can CASE your own. This week I am featuring a Peaceful Poinsettia Christmas card from the Holiday Catalog. Enjoy!

Poinsettia Christmas CardOnce again, my love for Christmas songs guided me into purchasing a stamp set. I LOVE the song, “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”,  by Hugh Martin and Ralph Blane.  How could I not buy this set? I hope you enjoy today’s On the CASE!

Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
Let your heart be light
From now on,
our troubles will be out of sight
Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
Make the Yule-tide gay,
From now on,
our troubles will be miles away.
Here we are as in olden days,
Happy golden days of yore.
Faithful friends who are dear to us
Gather near to us once more.
Through the years
We all will be together,
If the Fates allow.
Hang a shining star upon the highest bough,
And have yourself a merry little Christmas now.

2.  Ink the Holly Border in Crumb Cake.  Stamp the top and bottom of the designer paper.

How Hard Was It to Crack This CASE

Today’s card is straightforward, with nothing tricky.   The stamping is simple, and the die cutting is easy.  There is a smidge of faux watercoloring with Blender Pens and ink on the holly, but there isn’t a lot of shading to do.  If anything, it just take a little time to do the die cutting.    Difficulty Level:  2.5 out of 5
