Stamp Review Crew: Butterfly Gala

Butterfly gala cardIt’s time for the Stamp Review Crew: Butterfly Gala Edition! If this is your very first visit to one of our hops, the Stamp Review Crew is a group of international Stampin’ Up! demonstrators whose mission is to do a blog hop on the first, third and fifth Mondays of each month. Our hops are unique because each of us features the same stamp set used in a variety of ways, giving you loads of inspiration for that set. The hops are archived at the Stamp Review Crew blog. You will be able to click through each hop at any time, going directly to the posts for that hop, whenever you want.

This week we are featuring the Butterfly Gala set. If you are following along in order, you have just arrived from the amazing Stesha Bloodhart.  Her work blows me away! After visiting me, you will continue to the next stop, the talented Charlet Mallett.  I always loves what she does. Be prepared to be inspired as you travel along on today’s hop!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

As many of you are aware, the Butterfly Gala bundle is currently unavailable. It was so overwhelmingly popular, that Stampin’ Up! temporarily sold out of the punch!  However, it will be back later this spring.  Plus, it will be carried over into the Annual Catalog.  Woo hoo!

I have always LOVED butterflies, so I am thrilled that Stampin’ Up! is once again offering a butterfly set.  I find butterflies are perfect for accenting sentiments and flowers.  For watercoloring today’s beauties, Balmy Blue and Daffodil Delight were the inks of choice.  Of course, I just had to accent them with Share What You Love Artisan Pearls.

butterfly galaThe incredible Country Floral Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder is a showstopper. This embossing folder is one of the Sale-A-Bration second release items.  It’s FREE with a $50 purchase.  I used sponge daubers and a variety of inks to add a hint of color.  Once again, pearls made the perfect accents. The details can be found in today’s free pdf tutorial.

Monochromatic Thinking of You for PP429

It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players! This week, the lovely LeAnne  is hosting a Clean and Simple Monochromatic challenge.  Clean and simple cards have minimal layers and embellishments, plenty of open space, and are simple and uncluttered.

monochromatic thinking of youI always have trouble creating Clean and Simple cards, but I love trying.  For me, today’s card is pretty clean…and definitely quick and easy! I hope you enjoy it!

Colors of the Day
The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

For my monochromatic look, I opted on shades of pink…specifically Blushing Bride.  A look of elegance was achieved by embossing a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of cardstock with the Lace Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  A frosted look was achieved by sweeping over the surface with a Whisper White Craft Stampin’ Pad.

The sentiment was stamped in Soft Suede.  It was cut out using the smallest Rectangle Stitched framelit and then “popped” up on the card using dimensionals.  By switching out the sentiment, this card layout and design would perfect for so many occasions:  weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, get well and more!
