Searching for a pink and pearled horse card? Guess what I created for this week’s Festive Friday Challenge: Mother’s Day and/or Pink!

horse cardNow you may be wondering how a horse card fits into Mother’s Day.   My mother loved horses.  In fact, we had 30 horses on the farm when I was growing up.   I actually showed horses from the time I was in elementary school through college.  I know my mother would have loved getting this card for Mother’s Day…and it is dedicated to her memory.

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

This beautiful horse was easy to watercolor. I used Aqua Painters and Balmy Blue, Basic Gray, Old Olive, and Smokey Slate inks. Using Shimmery White card stock adds visible sparkle.  Plus, I added more shimmer to the mane and tail with Clear Wink of Stella.

horse cardOf course, it was no holds barred when it came to adding pearls.  Every tuft received one.

  • Retiring In Colors:  Be sure to stock up on retiring In Color ink and paper products while they are still available!  Please don’t hesitate! As we all know, these sell out quickly, and I don’t want you to be disappointed.
  • The Stampin’ Trimmer is retiring!  While a replacement trimmer or paper cutter will be released at some point in the future,  if you would like a Stampin’ Trimmer or replacement cutting blades for your current trimmer, you need to order them now, while supplies are available.  Beginning April 15, you can order up to SIX  packages of cutting blades (two blades per package).
  • Stock Up NOW on cardstock, foil sheets, embossing powder and envelopes!  When the new catalog is released, there will modest price increases on these products.

Colorful Thank You Card for PP437

Is a pearl bedecked, colorful thank you card in your future? It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players!

colorful thank you cardThis week I have the pleasure of hosting the color challenge at The Paper Players.  I thought a trio of Balmy Blue, Calypso Coral and Daffodil Delight would be perfect for creating spring cards. I had fun creating this colorful thank you card, and I hope you enjoy it.

colorful thank you cardThe Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

This card is not one which can be created quickly.  However, if you have a little time on your hands, it is a fun card to make.  It involves using the Stamparatus “hinge step” technique to stamp the images which are found in the larger “windows”.

colorful thank you cardThe other windows were paper pieced using Balmy Blue cut-outs created from a second Florentine die cut.  Of course, I absolutely had to add pearls to the center of each.

colorful thank you cardThe circular focal point involved stamping the image three times in the challenge colors, and using Layering Circles framelits to cut them out.  A Clear Faceted Gem, surrounded by pearls, adds sparkle.
