Looking to create a summer vacation card? How about one with a nautical theme? It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players!
This week, I am hosting a theme challenge: Summer Vacation! To be perfectly honest, as I began planning today’s card, I was heading in a completely different direction, something more along the lines of a beach theme with perhaps palm trees. That was before I explored the fabulous cards in the new Come Sail Away Memories & More card pack. Isn’t the cutout background paper awesome? The “You, Me and the Sea” card really caught my attention. The entire collection reminds me of coastal New England, which is definitely an area I would LOVE to visit on vacation. Enjoy today’s card!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
So many of the elements found on today’s card come from the Come Sail Away Memories & More card pack. The focal sentiment, which was cut using the largest Layering Oval die, is from one of the cards in the pack. The background “water” is actually one of the laser cut designs! And “The Perfect Day”? Why that is a sticker!
Of course, the Sailing Home stamp set and Smooth Sailing dies, available as a bundle, also play key roles in the creation of this card. The sailboats were inked in Crumb Cake, Old Olive and Night of Navy, and cut out with the corresponding die.
The Old Olive seaweed, Silver Foil wheel, and Crumb Cake rope edge were all die cut using dies found in the collection. The nice thing about the foil wheel is that it doesn’t add bulk and is easy to mail.
