It’s great to be checking in with all of you today, after taking a break to take care of puppies.  Yep! The puppies are here!  While we are not out of the woods yet,  I am making a quick post today to let you know about our latest bundles of joy – the Party of Ten!

Yep! Party of Ten! While the X-rays only showed 6 for sure, maybe 7 or 8, Kendall blessed us with TEN puppies.  Ten is considered a large litter for a Boxer of Kendall’s size, so supplementation was in order.  We are hoping that Kendall does not decide to close the “milk bar” down before we get these babies started on puppy gruel! We have four girls and 6 boys. There are four fawns and six brindles.  Are you ready for some puppy cuteness?  Here you go!

While I don’t have pictures of everyone posted today, I will be certain to introduce you to each one in the upcoming days.  Because three of the puppies are low birth weight and “at risk”,  the litter does take up a huge amount of my time. I sleep beside the whelping box, and sometimes in it,  when I can find the time to sleep.  The babes are fed in shifts, and by the time the second shift finishes up, the first shift is ready to go again.  As they grow older and become more active, I have no idea what I am going to do!  It will be Puppy Pandemonium!

Clean, Simple Baby Card for The Paper Players

Cute and easy are two words to describe today’s Clean and Simple baby card. It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players!

The talented Jaydee, who creates the BEST Clean and Simple cards,  is hosting a Clean and Simple Woodland Critters challenge.   I selected the bunny from the Fable Friends stamp set as my critter.  With so many cute critters to choose from, I can’t wait to see what you create!  Because this is our clean and simple challenge, just remember to keep your project simple and uncluttered, with minimal layers and embellishments, and plenty of open space.

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

Today’s card is quick and easy for a reason. I was under the gun to get this card made and this blog post written before Kendall the Boxer had her puppies. I knew once the puppies arrived, I would be so occupied with the babies that I would not get anything else done. So here I sit, on Friday, February 7th, feverishly typing away.  As the X-ray taken yesterday shows, the puppies are lining up, ready to greet the world. (For those of you who would like to see the X-ray,  look for it later in this post.)  By the time you read this on the 16th, the puppies will be here! I promise to update this post with details if I can. If not, expect them in the next post.

I stamped the image in Saddle Brown StazOn and colored it with Stampin’ Blends. I do admit that I did get a little heavy handed with the bunny’s “blush”.  If I were to re-do this card, I would lighten it up for sure. Another thing I would change would be the color of her sweater.  I used Calypso Coral. That’s because originally I was going to use a Calypso Coral gingham background. But as sometimes happens, I changed design mid-card.

But when all is said and done, with its Eyelet Lace embossed background, it is still an adorable card, and clean and simple for me!

Romantic Silhouette Card for The Paper Players

This week I have the pleasure of hosting our monthly color challenge. I elected to go with red, pink, black and white. I can’t wait to see what you create with these four colors!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

Today’s card is quick and easy! The focal point is the heat embossed silhouette couple.  To add interest, I stamped the image directly onto a piece of designer series paper using Versamark ink and heat embossed it with Shimmer Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  Instead of a stamped sentiment, I used a die cut, created with the Sweet Silhouettes dies.
