Poinsettia Christmas Card for The Paper Players

Poinsettias are undoubtedly one of the most recognizable of all plants. Not only do I love to decorate my home with them during the holiday season, I LOVE to include them on my Christmas cards. I hope you enjoy today’s easy Poinsettia Christmas card. It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players!

Poinsettia Christmas Card

This week it is the super-talented Joanne’s turn to host our monthly color challenge. Don’t you love this trio of colors, accented with a touch of Silver or Gold? As you can tell, I decided on a punch of gold. How about you? Team Silver or Team Gold? I can’t wait to see what YOU create!!!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

Don’t you love a card that packs a “Wow” but is oh-so-easy to create? Today’s card is that type of card. Now easy doesn’t necessarily mean quick. There is layering – scrumptious plush paper on top of brushed metallic cardstock – but layering isn’t difficult. There is die cutting – metallic leaves and berries, as well as die cut images from pattern paper – but die cutting isn’t hard. There is heat embossing involved with the gorgeous scripted “Merry Christmas” sentiment – but heat embossing is fun! I really hate to tell you how quickly this card comes together, especially if you take advantage of my free tutorial which includes all the paper measurements!

Happy Thanksgiving Card for The Paper Players

Are you a person who typically sends a Happy Thanksgiving card? To be honest, I usually do not. But this year is definitely different.  Since I will not be gathering together with my sister, nieces, nephews and their families, I WILL be sending out Happy Thanksgiving cards to let them know that even though we are not physically together, they are always in my heart! It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players!

Happy Thanksgiving card

This week, our Queen of Die Cuts, Laurie, is hosting our monthly theme challenge – Turkey Time! How fun is that! Since I didn’t have a turkey image, I decided to focus instead on pumpkins and fodder shocks.  I can’t wait to see what YOU create!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

One of my favorite fall bundles from the current mini catalog is the Autumn Goodness bundle.  There was just something about the wooden wheelbarrow and fodder shocks that reminded me of my carefree childhood days. Yep, my mother would make fodder shocks every fall when I was growing up on the farm.  Of course, I had to include fodder shocks on my Happy Thanksgiving card!  These are colored with Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends with just a touch of Green Apple Green.

The pumpkins were colored with Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze Stampin’ Blends. Although it doesn’t show up in the photo, there is a touch of frost added courtesy of Clear Wink of Stella. I love the Early Espresso picket fence. This wood grain pattern, from the Neutral 6″ x 6″  Designer Paper stack, is perfect for “fence building”! The overall result reminds me ever so much of John Whitcomb Riley’s poem, “When the Frost is on the Punkin'”:

When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder’s in the shock,
And you hear the kyouck and gobble of the struttin’ turkey-cock,
And the clackin’ of the guineys, and the cluckin’ of the hens,
And the rooster’s hallylooyer as he tiptoes on the fence;

Inspirational Friendship Card for Festive Friday

Don’t we all know someone who makes the world a better place, simply because they are in it? Why not send this inspirational friendship card to them to let them know how you feel? It’s time to play at Festive Friday – Home of the Inspo List!

inspirational friendship card

For this week’s challenge,  we are inspired by World Kindness Day.  Remember – at Festive Friday, you do not need to actually celebrate the occasion.  Your goal is to simply use three or more items from the inspiration list on your project.  I used pearls, embossing, die cut, pattern paper, ribbon, sentiment, and world globe on my card this week.  I can’t wait to see what YOU create!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

Today’s card incorporates two of my favorite things: the Detailed Dove dies and the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder.  I can’t say enough about this embossing folder. It definitely imparts texture while staying subtle. It has become my new “go-to” embossing folder.

inspirational friendship card

Of course, the focal point of this card is the stunning dove die cut. As I mentioned in another post,  I almost did not buy the Dove of Hope bundle, which includes these fabulous Detailed Dove dies. Oh my gosh!  Am I ever happy I did! I plan on featuring it on some of the holiday cards I sent out this year.  My husband loves using the new Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine, so he will be in charge of die cutting the doves.
