I have always loved seashells and the beach. How ironic that I live in an area where there are no sandy beaches strewn with beautiful shells! Maybe it is for that reason that I fell in love with the Friends Are Like Seashells bundle from Stampin’ Up! If you love seashells, and would like to create a seashell thank you card, this may just be the card for you! It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
When I first saw it, I thought of just using the sand dollar and the sentiment. But after viewing the lovely examples created by Stampin’ Up!’s concept artists, I noticed how much more beautiful it is to use several shells. I felt this sketch lent itself to a vertical array down the side similar to one in the catalog, but I think it would be equally as lovely with just a cluster of shells. Since I have a tendency to overdo things, I ended up with 8 shells down the side. For designer series paper, I selected Sand & Sea patterns. The one pattern reminded me of a sunset over the ocean, while the other looked like a sandy beach. Of course, I felt I had to accent the shells with pearls.

Ann I love the soft pinks and blues on today’s card that balances those sandy tones beautifully and the pearls are the perfect ‘Ann’ touch! I love the row of shells (still quite understated for you I think) and your card totally has me pining for beach vacations, sunner days and warmer climes! Beautiful!
This is such a great beach card Ann! I am fortunate enough to live 3 1/2 miles from the beach and only one mile from the intercoastal. I often forget how lucky I truly am. Love the soft colors of the background and the added pearls. Have a great day!
I am blessed to live only a couple of hours from a beach and I love it too! This is a good substitute for visiting while it’s so cold outside…that DSP is so pretty and the shells are gorgeous! I think we both had summer on our minds this week!
Ann, I know what you mean about seashells and beaches… I’ve always wanted to live by the beach, but seem to have spent my life living in the middle of the country! I love the soft watercolored background – it’s perfect to showcase those gorgeous shells.

Ann, your card is soft and beautiful and makes me long for the beach. We have beautiful beaches here in NJ and I spend a lot of time there. Today, it’s 22 degrees and we’re expecting more snow this week. I love how you layered the shells and the dimension you gave them. A perfect take on the sketch. Enjoy your week.
