Fall Card for Festive Friday

It’s hard to believe, but the leaves are starting to turn here in southeast Iowa. Not in large numbers, but just enough to remind us of the colorful display that will soon be in store for us in a month or so.  Fall is my favorite season, with its crisp temperatures and beautiful colors…and fall cards are my favorite cards to make. I hope you enjoy today’s Fall card with metallic leaves. It’s time for another Festive Friday challenge – the home of the Inspo List!

For this week’s challenge,  we are inspired by the First Day of  Fall.  At Festive Friday, you do not need to actually celebrate the occasion.  Your goal is to simply use three or more items from the inspiration list on your project.  I used:  leaves, acorns, plaid, stitching, gold, brown. I can’t wait to see what YOU create!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

I am not one who would typically mix plaid with a pattern, but it works on today’s card. The Cajun Craze leaves in the adorable Leaves and Acorn paper coordinates so well with the Cajun Craze plaid.  And what about the leaves which were die cut from Brushed Metallics cardstock? Aren’t they beautiful?

I felt the card needed just a little “pop” of color, so I added an Old Olive bow.  The gold edge on the ribbon ties in with the gold foil card base, brushed gold leaf, and the gold metallic pearls.  I couldn’t have written a more perfect sentiment than this one from the Autumn Goodness stamp set.
