Ready to create a hummingbird thank you card? It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players!
This week, Claire has a wonderful sketch for us, filled with lovely layers. I was in the mood to do a little watercoloring, so I pulled out my Humming Along set, and colored away. I hope you like today’s card.

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
Claire’s sketch is one of my favorites. I love the layers, and the large focal circle is just perfect for highlighting an image, such as the hummingbird from the Humming Along set. I pulled out my Stampin’ Blends and colored away. (The complete details can be found in the free tutorial.) I think all hummingbirds are deserving of a little sparkle, so I added a few swishes of Wink of Stella. And don’t forget the details! I used a Basic Gray watercolor pencil to add a few checks and feather marks.
Don’t you love the circle itself? The top circle was die cut using the Hummingbird framelits Grid die, allowing a watercolored circle to peek through. A few Balmy Blue Gingham Gala Adhesive-Backed Sequins add a delicate touch of sparkle.
The sentiment is from the Florentine Filigree set. Calypso Coral adds a pop of color in the otherwise sea of Balmy Blue. Sadly, both the Humming Along and Florentine Filigree bundles are retiring.

Ann, this is gorgeous. I love how you kept the colors to a minimum and you colored your hummingbird beautifully. I also love the background you created for him. Fabulous take on the challenge, my friend. Hope you have a wonderful weekend

Ann, this is GORGEOUS! Your grid die adds so much dimension to this card and your hummingbird steals the show! Just amazing! Thanks for making my sketch shine! Have a fabulous weekend, My Friend! XX
Absolutely amazing card to showcase this stamp set, Ann. Wow! Your coloring on the hummingbird is fabulous, as well. You have inspired me to (finally) ink up this set.
Ann, Your card is “blue-t-ful! I love all the patterns and layers, and your hummingbird focal point!
Love the feather detail on the hummingbird Ann and that layered circle diecut adds fabulous interest – what a great card!
Your hummer is astounding..I really love the little feathers you gave it! (We are on hummingbird watch here at my house…none yet at the feeder, but hopeful some will arrive soon!) The die and gingham background are a fun combo too…all in my favorite blue, too!
Oh, how pretty! I love how you colored the hummingbird. Adhesive backed sequins? Oh, happy day! Lovely card for the sketch!
Love the hummingbird! So pretty with the background layers!
Love the colors! Do you know if the die from the Humming Along set works for cutting out the hummingbirds in the new DSP? Great card as usual. Hope you had a great birthday!
A lovely card Ann. I love the the colors you chose to make your card and your water coloring is beautiful!!
