Your Friendship Means Everything

“Your friendship means everything.”  If you find it difficult to express your feelings, let a card do the talking for you. It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players!

Your friendship means everything to me

This week, the sweet and talented LeAnne has a fabulous sketch for us. I am such a fan of great sketches, and this one is definitely a wonderful one.  I went with floral die cuts as my focal point, but I can’t wait to see what YOU create!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

I am a die cut fanatic, especially floral ones, and the rectangles on LeAnne’s sketch seemed like the perfect place to put one…or two.  I used the floral die from the Wonderful Thoughts die collection and created two bouquets from Basic White cardstock.  I used a water painter to add soft hues of Bubble Bath, Lemon Lolly, and Lost Lagoon. I had forgotten how much fun it was to watercolor with water painters.  Although it doesn’t show up well in the photos, the Soft Shimmer papers in Bubble Bath and Lost Lagoon add a lovely subtle sparkle.

Nueve’s Notes

Hey everybody, it’s me, Nueve! Guess where I have been! I have been in Almost Heaven.  It was a long way away from my house in Iowa.  It took us 4 meals to get there! When we got there, we got to go to a park.  Mom and I had our picture taken in front of the Almost Heaven sign.

Nueve in West Virginia

We also got our picture taken in front of a big gun.  Mom read the sign to me, and it said it was a cannon.  It’s name was Long Tom, but I don’t think it comes when you call it.  It was from a war a long, long time ago before even Mom was born.

Nueve in West Virginia

There were other places to visit in the park. They had a big map to show you were to go.  Mom was pointing out places.  I was hungry and just wanted to eat.  But I was polite and looked anyway.

Nueve in WV

Luckily Mom decided we should go back to the motel so we could eat.  I was super hungry. I had crunchies with pieces of chicken.  Mom always packs the best meals for me.  After I ate, I guarded the room for Mom and Dad.

I love going places with my mom and dad.  I’m a good traveler and a good protector. It’s all part of my job. I’m a working dog. I am Good Boy Nueve!

Thanks For Your Kindness

Brightly colored apples will brighten up anyone’s day on this “Thanks For Your Kindness” card. It’s Sunday and time to play with The Paper Players!

Thanks for your kindnessThis week the talented Joanne is hosting our monthly Clean and Simple challenge. The theme is “Use One of Something:  Use One Image Only”.  I used one large image featuring apples and leaves. I can’t wait to see what YOU create.  But before you run off to gather your stamps, papers, and inks, remember that when The Paper Players use the term “clean and simple”, we mean cards that:

Have minimal layers and embellishments
Have plenty of open space
Are simple and uncluttered

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

To meet the challenge criteria of using one image only, I selected the large image from the Apple Harvest stamp set, which featured three apples and lots of leaves.  This image was fun to color using Stampin’ Blends.  The Granny Apple Green leaves and Real Red apples are so cheery. This card will definitely brighten up someone’s mailbox.  The largest Radiating die and the Crosshatch embossing folder add interest while keeping things clean.  Three Parakeet Party pearls are the only embellishments needed.

You Can Do Amazing Things

Do you know someone who needs a confidence boost? Today’s “You Can Do Amazing Things” card may be just what they need. It’s Sunday and time to play with The Paper Players!

You Can Do Amazing ThingsIt’s Color Challenge Week at The Paper Players and sweet Jaydee has a gorgeous palette of colors for you.  They are stunning together.  I hope you love them as much as I do. I can’t wait to see how YOU use these colors!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

I pulled out my “go-to” floral set, Two-Tone Flora, for today’s card. I inked the solid image in Bubble Bath, a delicious shade of pink. The detailed overlay is Moody Mauve, which happens to coordinate beautifully with pink.  Leaves took care of the green requirement. The recently retired Soft Succulent was the perfect hue to compliment the pink. I used Basic Gray for the mat, and super sparkly gems for the silver requirement. As for black and white, it doesn’t get any easier than black ink and crisp white cardstock.

Nueve’s Notes

Hi, everyone! It’s me, Nueve. Sixxy and I went back to Oh-Hi-Oh last week. We got to show outside, even though it was cold in the morning. I won the best Boxer ribbon, and Sixxy won the next best Boxer ribbon.  Michelle sat down on the grass with me to get my picture taken.  She loves to cuddle and snuggle with me.  Michelle looks different ’cause her hair is different. Usually she has her hair pulled back so it looks like she has a tail. Her long hair was fun, though,  ’cause when she leaned over to fix my feet, it tickled my back and my side. We had fun.

Sixxy didn’t get to lay down for her picture. She had to stand up.  She was being bad and kept moving. Sometimes she gets that way.  I think it’s ’cause she’s a princess and expects to get her own way all the time.

I got to take my ‘corn with me to the show. I used it as a pillow while I rested.  I wanted to take it up to the show ring with me.  But once again, Mom made me leave my ‘corn behind. She said the judge doesn’t allow ‘corns in his show ring.

Nueve with unicorn in crateIt made me sad that I couldn’t bring my ‘corn. To make me feel better, Mom let me lay across her lap. That made me all happy again.  We are both laughing ’cause I was wagging my nub, and it made Mom’s chair wiggle.

Nueve in Mom's lap

Sometimes doing what I am asked to do, like leaving my ‘corn behind, is hard to do.  But, I have to trust that my mom knows what is best for me. It’s part of the job.  I am a working dog.  I am Good Boy Nueve!
