Peace and Joy are great sentiments for ny time of year and especially for the holidays. Today’s Decorative Trees holiday card is ready to spread peace and joy to the lucky recipient. It’s Sunday and time to play with The Paper Players!

This week the amazing Joanne is hosting our sketch challenge. What a fabulous sketch she has for us! I absolutely love it. I was excited to use it to create a holiday card to add to my stash. It is such a versatile sketch. The sky is the limit as to what you can use for the center shape. I am excited to see what YOU create!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

From the moment I saw this gorgeous snowflake overlay, I knew I had to have the Decorative Trees dies. Die cut from gold foil and adhered to a Very Vanilla tree, this overlay adds a touch of elegance. The centers of the snowflakes were the perfect location for a trio of metallic gems. Can you imagine the possibilities? Green tone-on-tone! Shimmer paper delights! Or how about creating the overlay in a nontraditional holiday color? I can’t wait to play with this die again!

Today’s “You Are Meant To Soar” card was created for someone who is going through some rough times right now. Knowing that she has someone in her corner will hopefully help her spirits soar.  It’s Sunday and time to play with The Paper Players!

you are meant to soarThis week it is my pleasure to host our Clean and Simple challenge. The theme I selected for you is “Back to Nature”. You may feature any plant or animal on your clean and simple card.  While two swallows grace the front of my card, I can’t wait to see what YOU create. But remember, this is a CLEAN and SIMPLE challenge.  Before you run off to gather your stamps, papers, and inks, keep in mind that when The Paper Players use the term “clean and simple”, we mean cards that:

Have minimal layers and embellishments
Have plenty of open space
Are simple and uncluttered

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

I love using embossing folders for adding texture and interest, especially when creating Clean and Simple cards. The Distressed Tile 3D embossing folder is one of my favorites. This lovely pattern is both feminine and vintage.  It was the perfect choice for this card, adding to the vintage feel of the swallows. Pretty in Pink blossoms on a Crumb Cake branch unify the design and are in keeping with the feminine look I wanted to achieve.  Although the Soaring Swallows stamp set and dies are retired, sometimes a sentiment is timeless.  It is the reason I will never part with this set.
