Sometimes stepping outside of our artistic comfort zone is good for us. That is exactly what I had to do with today’s One Layer card. It’s Sunday and time to play with The Paper Players.
This week, the talented Elizabeth is hosting our Sketch Challenge. Her challenge: create a One Layer card. For a “More Layers the Merrier” gal like me, this was a challenge indeed. But I do have to admit, it ended up being fun. I can’t wait to see what YOU create!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tip
For my One Layer card, I knew I wanted to use a floral image and a bold sentiment. That’s when I remembered the Corner In Bloom stamp set which I earned during Sale-A-Bration earlier this year. It was perfect for the look I wanted to achieve. I inked it up with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and stamped it into the corner of my card base. Coloring it was easy using Fresh Freesia and Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends for the flowers; Soft Sea Foam for the leaves; and Lemon Lolly for the centers of the flowers. The sentiments, from Gallery Blooms were also inked in Tuxedo Black Memento. I then outlined the word “Bloom” and all of the flowers with a Light Pool Party Stampin’ Blend. Although it does not show up in the photo, a wee bit of sparkle was added to the flowers with a Jelly Roll pen.

A cluster of oranges and blossoms grace the front of a Clean and Simple “Fruit” card. The image is so lovely – I can I almost smell the blooms and taste the sweetness. It’s Sunday and time to play with The Paper Players.
This week, sweet Claire is hosting our monthly Clean and Simple challenge. Her theme: Fruit! This was such a fun challenge for me and my clean and simple fruit card came together quickly. I can’t wait to see what YOU create. But remember, this is a CLEAN and SIMPLE challenge. Before you run off to gather your stamps, papers, and inks, keep in mind that when The Paper Players use the term “clean and simple”, we mean cards that:
Have minimal layers and embellishments Have plenty of open space Are simple and uncluttered

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
I love Stampin’ Up!’s Mediterranean Blooms designer series paper, especially the pattern featuring these oranges. When I saw Claire’s challenge, I knew I wanted to feature them. A piece of Basic White paper was embossed with the retired Crosshatch embossing folder. I then matted it onto Lemon Lolly cardstock and layered it onto a “frame” I created with Garden Green cardstock and the retired Stitched So Sweetly dies. The Mini Corrugated 3D embossing folder was used to give bold texture to the card base. All that was left to do was to adhere the fussy cut oranges to the panel. The “hello” sentiment is from the Wonderful Thoughts stamp set. A trio of green rhinestones I found in my stash adds the perfect bit of sparkle.

Summer marks the beginning of a season of congratulations: Weddings, graduation, anniversaries! What could be better than a floral congratulations card that can be customized with the lucky recipient’s favorite colors! It’s Sunday and time to play with The Paper Players.
This week, the talented Stef is hosting our monthly color challenge. Stef is the BEST when it comes to colors, and she has a delightful trio of hues for us: Peach, Light Blue and Green. I used Peach Pie, Balmy Blue and Old Olive. I can’t wait to see what shades you use!
The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
Today’s floral congratulations card features a sweet image from the Gallery Blooms stamp set. Stampin’ Blends were used for the coloring. For the petals I used Peach Pie and Pumpin Pie, while Old Olive was used for the leaves. The centers of the flowers were colored Daffodil Delight and given a lovely shimmer by using Clear Wink of Stella. The wonderful thing about this stamp set is that it comes with coordinating dies. How easy is that? Of course, I LOVE layers and texture, and this card has an ample supply of both. Two of my favorite embossing folders, the Mini Corrugated 3D embossing folder and the retired Crosshatch pattern from the Basics 3D embossing folder collection, are responsible for the lovely texture on the card base and inside the Peach Pie frame. The frame was die cut using the Gallery Blooms dies. I know I will be using these frame dies often. Beautiful Bokeh designer paper has a lovely shade of Balmy Blue. I used it and the Spotlight on Nature dies to die cut a circle to serve as a backdrop for the flowers. In case you are wondering about the source of the sentiment, it is from the May 2025 Paper Pumpkin kit. I absolutely love the font. What better way to finish off this card than with five Brushed Brass Butterflies!
