Do you know a friend who could use a floral pick-me-up? This floral friendship card packs a “wow”,  but is easy to make. It’s time for another Festive Friday challenge!

At Festive Friday, your goal is to use three or more items from the inspiration list on your project. I selected sequins, glitter, doily, and rhinestones from the Inspo List in creating today’s card.  I hope you will join us in our challenge this week. I can’t wait to see what YOU create!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

Today’s card is perfect for showcasing this beautiful new designer series paper collection, Ornate Garden. This paper is part of the fabulous Ornate Garden Suite.  This suite is from the upcoming new annual catalog, but you will be able to buy it right away as an early release beginning April 1st.

The  Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder, also part of this suite, makes a beautiful background, don’t you think?  And how about this gorgeous Old Olive ribbon?  It is also part of this collection.  Inked in Terracotta Tile, this sentiment from the Floral Essence stamp set will brighten anyone’s day.

friendship cardA sequin with a Champagne rhinestone graces the center of the yellow flower in the upper right hand corner, while three Champagne rhinestones accent the sentiment.  Clear Wink of Stella adds a wash of shimmer across the larger flowers.

The pups are growing like little weeds.  As much work as they have been,  sadly they will be heading to their forever homes in two weeks, and a part of me will leave with them.  It doesn’t take them long to worm their way into your heart!

For poppies that “pop”,  how about this clean and simple floral thank you card? It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players!

This week the super talented Joanne is hosting our monthly Clean and Simple challenge.  She has selected a spring flowers theme for us.   To be perfectly honest, I had to do a little research to see if poppies were a spring flower. Luckily for me, they do bloom from spring into early summer.  Woo hoo!  I can’t wait to see what flower YOU choose for your project!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

Today’s card combines texture, depth and dimension in a clean design.  I stamped the flowers from the Painted Poppies set onto the Poppy Parade colored paper from the See A Silhouette Designer Series Paper collection. I then used the coordinated Painted Labels dies to die cut them out.  Single leaves were stamped, colored with a Blender Pen and Old Olive ink, and also die cut out. Next I stamped the multiple leaves image directly onto a Whisper White panel, as shown, and “messy” watercolored using a Blender Pen and Old Olive ink.

The larger blossom and one smaller blossom were adhered to the panel.  The “speckles” image was inked in black, stamped off several times, and then randomly stamped over the panel. The “Thank You” sentiment, from the Peaceful Moments stamp set, was also inked in black and stamped directly onto the panel in the upper right hand corner.  The panel was then embossed using the Subtle embossing folder for texture.  The remaining blossom and leaves were adhered using dimensionals.  Of course, a little bling, in the form of Champagne rhinestones, was in order.

It’s hard to believe that the babies will be five weeks old tomorrow. How quickly time flies! In two weeks, Kendall will be returning to Canada, and in three weeks, the babies will be headed to their new homes.  My heart is already breaking as the reality that I will never see some of them again sets in. I wish there was some way that I would be able to visit each and every one of them again – to see how they have grown,  to see their tails wag in joy.  All I hope for is that I have given them best possible start in life…

Hello Card for The Paper Players 481

Looking for a  sweet “Hello” card to brighten someone’s day? This just may be what you are looking for! It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players!

This week Laurie is hosting a color challenge for us:  Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, and Calypso Coral.  I was excited to have a little extra time to create while puppies slept. Woo hoo! I had time for layers and extras! I hope you like it. I can’t wait to see what YOU create with this fun trio of colors!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

This sweet little hello card is all about layers, texture and details.   A Coastal Cabana panel was embossed using the Coastal Weave 3D embossing folder and adhered to a Whisper White scalloped frame, which was created using the Stitched So Sweetly dies.   Calypso Coral gingham paper spans across the card, forming the backdrop for a Bermuda Bay circle, which had been stamped using an image from the Swirly Frames stamp set.  A pair of neutral colored birds were die cut from Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper and popped atop the circular frame using dimensionals.  Step-by-step details are included in the free tutorial below.

Free As A Bird blossoms and buds were stamped in Calypso Coral, while leaves were stamped in Bermuda Bay. They provide a touch of interest to the circle.

The sentiment is from the Honey Bee stamp set. It was inked in Basic Gray to coordinate with the birds. Once again, I used a die from the Stitched So Sweetly collection to cut it out.
