Looking to brighten someone’s day? How about this card of encouragement featuring the Detailed Dove dies from the August – December 2020 Mini Catalog? These dies are not just for the holidays. It’s Friday, and time to play at Festive Friday Challenges – home of the Inspo List!

For this week’s challenge,  we are inspired by the National Day of Encouragement.  At Festive Friday, you do not need to actually celebrate the occasion.  Your goal is to simply use three or more items from the inspiration list on your project.  I used: ribbon, foil paper, uplifting sentiment, sparkle, rhinestones, bird. I can’t wait to see what YOU create!

Today’s card is all about the sparkle!  Silver Foil, Metallic Mesh ribbon, and rhinestones galore will surely lift anyone’s spirits, especially when combined with this sentiment from Beautiful World.  And how about this absolutely stunning die cut dove? It is made using the Detailed Dove dies,  which are part of the  Dove of Hope Bundle, a holiday set.  But you know what…these dies are not just for Christmas. Can you imagine the gorgeous wedding, anniversary, sympathy, and birthday cards which could be created with this dove? I can’t wait to create more cards with it!

Teacher Card

The school year is starting in many areas of the country, and teachers and staff members will definitely be facing hardships.  Being a veteran of the classroom, I know my former colleagues will meet the challenges with grace, compassion, love and understanding.  I thought this teacher card, combined with a cake and fruit to be delivered to my former building,  would be a spirit lifter. It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players.

This week, dear sweet Claire is hosting our monthly Clean and Simple challenge. The theme is Back to School.  Remember, by Clean and Simple we mean:

Minimal layers and embellishments
Plenty of open space, or “white” space
Simple and uncluttered
Grab those stamps, inks and papers. We can’t wait to see what YOU create!

Stampin’ Up!’s new Best Plaid Builder dies are so much fun. I created this pink and gray confection from Peony Garden designer series paper. It really is SO easy to do.  A small peony, colored with Stampin’ Blends, and a leafy stem ground the sentiment.  A trio of rhinestones add a touch of bling.  If you would like to step it up, just think how awesome this would look with a rhinestone at each intersection, and a double bow!teacher card

Plaid Friendship Card and Happy Birthday Muffy and Brody

Are you mad about plaid? If so, today’s plaid friendship card will make your heart go pitter-pat! It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players!

This week Joanne has a fun quartet of colors for our monthly color challenge:  Melon Mambo, Mango Melody, Pool Party, Night of Navy.  Once again I pulled out my favorite “go-to” set and dies:  the Forever Fern bundle. This bundle is the bomb! Just look at these leaves stamped in non-traditional colors! I can’t wait to see what YOU create using Joanne’s glorious colors!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

Who would have thought a holiday paper collection would contain such a versatile paper such as this one? I was lucky to find this plaid beauty which features Melon Mambo and Mango Melody.  After deciding on this paper, the rest was easy! I simply stamped leaves in the challenge colors.

There is so much texture and depth, thanks to a triple bow, a textured embossing folder, and dimensionals. Of course, a few well-placed rhinestones are added for just the right touch of sparkle and bling.

A Very Special Birthday

Today marks a very special day in the Schach household.  The Twins turn ten! It seems like just yesterday, Muffy arrived at our house. It was love at first sight…and she has never left my side. She is truly my heart dog. She was my first show dog, first champion, first grand champion, first group winner, and first Best in Show.  The first of so many things.  For whatever reason,  on the same day she entered into my heart,  I found out from her breeder that there was one puppy left.  Surely God was guiding me, as I said I would take him.  I’ll never forget the words my husband uttered when I told him at supper that night that I had bought her brother.  “WHAT were you thinking?” he said. And this become Brody’s registered name.  I have never regretted that day. I am so happy they have been able to share ten years together.

We’ve experienced so much together, the Twins and I:  Brady heading off to college and off to Seattle, my retirement, Kim’s retirement, and the addition of new members to the pack.  And in each and every situation, they have faithfully stood by my side,  raising my spirits when I have felt low as well as celebrating the highs with me.  Happy birthday to two dogs who have forever changed my life…
