Dove of Hope Holiday Card

Peace – Joy – Love! What better sentiment for the holiday season! That’s exactly what you’ll find on today’s Dove of Hope holiday card. It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players!

Dove of Hope Holiday Card

This week, I am hosting our Tic-Tac-Toe challenge. I have selected a variety of items for you to incorporate on your project.  Just choose at least three elements across, down or diagonally. We can’t wait to see what YOU create!

For my three elements, I went down a diagonal:  patterned paper, embossing, die cut. The paper, from the Artistry Blooms collections, certainly saves a lot of work.  It gives the impression of a water color wash with spatters, without any of the time and work involved.

For the embossing, I used one of my new favorite 3D embossing folders, Tasteful Textile. I can’t say enough about this folder.  It definitely imparts texture while staying subtle.  Of course, the focal point of the card has to be the dove die cut.  And to think I almost did not buy the Dove of Hope bundle, which includes the Detailed Dove dies. What was I thinking? These dies are gorgeous!

Foil Stag and Leaves Holiday Card

The warmth of Christmas red and the richness of foil are combined in this foil stag and leaves holiday card. It’s Sunday and time to play with The Paper Players!

foil stag and leaves holiday card

This week LeAnne has a very unique sketch for us. It’s a great one for showing off your favorite paper patterns.  In fact, in today’s tutorial, I’ve included a diagram showing you how I cut my paper to fit the sketch.  So what are you waiting for?  I know I can’t wait to see what you create!

Colors of the Day

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

Three subdued red patterns from the ‘Tis the Season designer series paper collection were selected for this sketch. I went with something very subtle because I wanted the foil leaves to “pop”.  I love the way the gold stag looks against the green foil.

This sentiment, from Merry Moose, worked well with the majestic stag.  Did you noticed the gold bells on the panel? Instead of using Whisper White cardstock, I found a section of the Wonder of the Season specialty paper that featured these bells.  What an easy element to add!
