Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mothers and moms at heart! Today’s trellis with flowers card reminds me so much of my own mother. She loved flowers, having been blessed with the greenest of green thumbs. Besides beds of iris, tulips, roses and more, she had more than one trellis with flowers vining up its length. She has been gone for 45 years, but I love honoring her memory by posting a card I know she would have cherished. Happy Mother’s Day, Momma! I am thinking of you…

It’s Sunday and time to play with The Paper Players! I have the pleasure of hosting this week’s Color Challenge, a fun trio of spring colors: Bubble Bath, Berry Burst, and Lost Lagoon. Neutrals like white and black are “free”. While these are Stampin’ Up! hues, colors close to these are certainly acceptable. I can’t wait to see what YOU create!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
Sometimes when dealing with color, keeping it simple is best. An abundance of white allows the challenge colors to take the spotlight. Berry Burst blossoms with Lost Lagoon leaves trail along a trellis of white, backed by Bubble Bath pink. The subtle color variation in the leaves and flowers is because of the designer papr I used: Beautiful Bokeh for the flowers and Thoughtful Journey for the leaves. While I usually opt for a more subtle textured background, the Forever Plaid 3D embossing folder adds bold contrast to the delicate trellis and flowers. All that was needed to finish off this card were pearl centers for the blooms and a lovely sentiment. And you know what? No stamps or inks were used in creating this versatile card. The blossoms, vines and trellis were created with the Linked Together dies and the sentiment is from the Greetings for All ephemora pack. How easy is that? If you love this look, please don’t hesitate to purchase the Linked Together dies while you still can. They are on the Last Chance list and marked as Low Inventory.

Ann, this made me get teary reading about your Sweet Mom. I know she was an amazing lady. Yes, she would have loved this lovely card. The embossing and the trellis of lovely flowers is gorgeous! This color combo is just so pretty!
All the colors pop off all the white!
Ann, isn’t it amazing how long ago 45 years is, but how close it seems. This card, and the story behind it, is a wonderful way to pay homage to your Mom. I love the florals against the trellis and all that gorgeous texture in the background. She would have loved it, and I do, too.
hugs

Your pretty trellis of flowers is a breath of spring! Just delightful! I love the trellis itself and how the embossing mimics it! Beautiful!
This is a lovely way to pay tribute to your Mum’s memory Ann – it’s the best feeling to create something you know the recipient would have loved. A lovely showcase of that trellis and I love the white embossed border too; whilst I went the complete opposite with no white today, I do love the way it balances these colours. Gorgeous!
What a lovely tribute for your mother. The embossed border and pretty trellis add serenity, while the flowers and leaves are so pretty. The use of the softly patterned DSP is a great way to add variation in colour. Have a lovely week. 🙂
Outstanding! The combination of Bubble Bath with the Basic White overlay is so beautifully effective. Love, love, love it!
Absoluty gorgeous card, congrats 😊💐 happy day
Ann… simple and sooo fun!
What a lovely card and nice memory of your mother. Happy Mother’s Day to you.
I love this card, the white really makes the colors pop. Good job lady💜
Happy Mother’s day!!! I love the color combo you choose!!! Your card turned very pretty! I’m glad I got the Linked Together and will be saving your card to make later!!!
Happy Mother’s Day, Ann. I love those colors and I’m sure your mother is smiling down on your creativity and thoughts of her. Hope things are better in your “neck” of the woods 😉
Oh my, that is beautiful!! I have decided to join again, seems like the best way to get lots of that two toned cardstock : )
