A beautiful butterfly, in pastel shades with silvery wings, comes bearing a heartfelt thanks to the recipient. It’s Sunday and time to play with The Paper Players.

This week it is the talented Stef (assisted by the amazing Joanne) turn to be our hostess. It’s Clean and Simple week, and she has a fun theme for us: Things That Fly! Bees, birds, butterflies and planes were all in my stash. But in the end, the butterfly won. I can’t wait to see what YOU create! But remember, this is a CLEAN and SIMPLE challenge. Before you run off to gather your stamps, papers, and inks, keep in mind that when The Paper Players use the term “clean and simple”, we mean cards that:
Have minimal layers and embellishments
Have plenty of open space
Are simple and uncluttered

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
First, I would like to extend my apologies to Stef, who picked out our Clean and Simple challenge for today. This old teacher is giving herself an “F” on this week’s “assignment”. When I made today’s card, it was giving me clean and simple vibes. I used the Beautiful Butterflies dies to die cut this gorgeous butterfly from Beautiful Bokeh paper, and perched her proudly on a Perennial Postage rectangle, also die cut from Beautiful Bokeh paper. Clear Wink of Stella was used to add shimmer to her wings. And that is when I should have stopped. I should have left off the Early Espresso die cut leaves. But this die cut looked so lonely, laying atop my pile of discarded Card Parts. I felt the overwhelming desire to show this cast-off from an earlier card some love by putting it behind the butterfly. The deep brown color led to me adding a trio of brown sequins. However, there is a smidge of white space, embossed with the retired Crosshatch embossing folder.

Nueve’s Notes – A Happy Update
Hi, everyone! It’s me, Nueve! And I have good news to share with you. I had my latest check-up with Doc Rita last Wednesday and she said my “owie” leg was all better. She told Mom that she could start re-introducing almost all of the things I used to do, except playing fetch the real way, jumping off the porch deck, and going up and down stairs. The stair thing means Mom still has to sleep on the floor with me for a little while longer. But she’s OK with that ’cause she loves me. Mom explained to me that I can’t go out and do everything all at once or run really fast or wrestle with Sixxy and Uncle Q yet. Doc Rita made it very clear to her that we have to do things slowly until all of my muskels are big again. At the end of my ‘pointment, Doc Rita gave me lots of treats, hugged me, and told me to be a good boy a little while longer. In return, I gave her lots of kisses and washed her face. I could tell she was happy, and so were Mom and Dad. When we got home, I got to go out in the backyard without my leash. I laid in the yard and chewed on a celebration chew!

Later, Sixxy and Uncle Q joined me as I told the neighbor who lives across the street my good news! He always liked watching me play. Now he will get the chance to watch me play again.

So now the hard work begins! I will follow Doc Rita’s orders. Following orders and doing what is asked of me is just part of my job. I am a working dog. I am Good Boy Nueve!

Ann, your card is beautiful! I share your enthusiasm of adding the little details to “finish” things off, so CAS can be hard for me too (and I don’t think my card was all that CAS either lol!). But as Joanne said, it still has a clean look to it and that butterfly is a stunner!
Yay, Neuve! Such good news – slow and steady improvement will ensure success and one day you’ll be able to sleep upstairs again lol and Neuve will be back to his old self.
I do like your butterfly card even if it is not completly CAS. Great hearing about Nueve, sure love hearing about him and love him so much. Oh, and the 3 dogs photo is superb!
Butterscotch is clapping her claws at your good news, Nueve! You look so happy in your photos! Will you be helping your human mom in her craft room soon? She makes the best cards, always so inspiring and beautiful!
This card still has a CAS vibe to it, and it’s beautiful! And what beautiful news for Nueve too! Hope you can keep his movements to a bare minimum, LOL!
Beautiful card, Ann. I love all the texture & the color of the butterfly.
I’m SOOO glad to hear Nueve’s good news! I hope he can be patient a little longer until his ‘muskels’ are all healed. The picture of the 3 pups is truly magazine-worthy!! What a GREAT picture!!!
Wonderful news on Nueve.
Your card is stunning. Like the softness along with the pastel colors. Like the embossed background as well
My thoughts; I think the die-cut leaves brings a little contrast to bring out the butterfly that much more.
Enjoy your day and have a Blessed week.
Once again, our minds turned to the same set yet we got very different results. 🙂
I like the soft pastel colours you’ve chosen for the butterfly – and of course, I like the embossing too. Have a happy week.
Ah, the challenge of clean and simple Ann! This card might have lots of layering, but the design is still clean and oh so pretty – I think the additions really make the card. That butterfly is just lovely – still a winner in my book! Bravo Nueve – that is good news!
Pretty card. Love the softness.
What great news for Nueve!
Ann, your card is gorgeous! This beautiful butterfly is just so pretty! The embossed background and postage die are just the perfect combo!
Now on to Nueve—-I am soooo thrilled to hear this fabulous news! I know your Mama heart if bursting! Slow and steady wins the race! GO NUEVE!
Beautiful butterfly on your lovely card.
When I saw your pretty CAS, I thought, “hmm”! LOL!! I hope Joanne accepted your apology because it is truly wonderful…as is the news from Nueve. I continue to hope he understands what it means to take it easy because you know we humans don’t! Take care and have a blessed week.
Very pretty! Happy news!
WONDERFUL NEWS Nueve, Mom and Dad!!!
