Noel Card

In classic hues of green and red with elegant touches of gold, today’s Noel holiday card is rich with texture. It’s Sunday and time to play with The Paper Players.

Noel cardIt’s time for our monthly sketch challenge at The Paper Players. The talented Jaydee has a wonderful sketch for us. Since I need to really get going on my holiday cards, I opted to use the Joy of Noel bundle. I can’t wait to see what YOU create!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

Jaydee’s sketch is great for showcasing a bold sentiment and that is exactly what I did.  The large die cut NOEL letters, inked in Cherry Cobbler,  stand out against the Shaded Spruce /Gold plaid paper.  The Distressed Tile 3D embossing folder adds yummy texture.  Despite the layers and embellishments, the card still has a clean vibe.  Of course, all of the touches of gold add the elegance I love at the holiday season.

Nueve’s Notes

Hey, everyone! It’s me, Nueve! I got BIG news to share this week about my Uncle Q.  He became a Grand Champion.  Uncle Q was a great show dog when he was young, but he didn’t get to finish showing because of the Panda-demic.  They closed down all the dog shows for a long, long time.  Mom was sad ’cause Uncle Q never got to finish his show career.  It had been a dream of hers that he would be a Grand Champion.  This year, when Mom was checking my show records, she looked at his records too and found out he was really close to getting his Grand title.  With the help of her Boxer friends, she was able to get him taken to a few shows where friends volunteered to show him.   Finally, this month he had reached the point where all he needed to do was win just one more time to earn his Grand Champion title.  And guess what!  He DID win on Saturday! Here he is with Mr. Josh. He was at the show.  He was showing hound dogs, but he said he would show him.  Michelle couldn’t show him  ’cause she is MY person and she shows ME. Mr. Josh is from AlleyBama.  Uncle Q liked him.

Everyone clapped and cheered when Uncle Q won.  Mom even cried.  Mom said it was amazing that an older boy like him won.  His face is getting gray and he moves slower than he used to. Sometimes he has trouble standing up.  But he loves to show as much as I do.  His nub was wagging really fast and he was jumping up and down. He knew he had done good.

I also won this weekend.  I got a new title, too.  I am now a Silver Grand Champion.  I will have many more shows ahead of me. This weekend it was Uncle Q’s time to shine.  When we got home, he was very, very tired.  I snuggled close to him while we both dreamed about playing show dog.

Q and Nueve

Uncle Q and Mom taught me a very ‘portant lesson this weekend:  “Never give up on your dreams.  Believe and work hard to achieve them.” I have dreams.  I WILL work hard. I am a working dog. I am Good Boy Nueve.
