colorful hello there cardIt’s color challenge week at The Paper Players, and our talented hostess, LeAnne, has a palette of bright colors for us.  If you follow my blog, you know that brights usually are not in my wheelhouse, but I really had fun playing with these cheery hues.  I thought they would be perfect for brightening one’s day with a colorful “Hello There” card. The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

I fell in love with the Better Days stamp set the moment I saw it.  Maybe it was because it was released at a time when I truly needed some better days ahead of me.  It is a very simplistic set, not like what I usually buy, but it called to me.  Has that ever happened to you?  I thought it would be perfect for today’s colors.  I paper pieced the water, hills and sun, and backed the fussy cut arched shape against a large Granny Apple Green tag.  The lovely textured panel is courtesty of one of the Online Exclusive Basic 3D embossing folders.  A double ribbon and matte Tahitian Tide dots accent the tag.

Ann, this is one of those stamp sets that I’ve always wanted but just needed the right inspiration to push the button. LOVE how you used the colors to really bring this sunny scene to life. The mix of patterns and layers just add to the charm. Super-fun card!

  6. Never in a million years would I have purchased that stamp set…until I saw this card! It put such a smile on my face! I have most of the other items for this card in my craft room, except for the Better Day set. I know many people who would love a card like this…as usual, thank you for the inspiration!

  11. I couldn’t wait to comment on this, Ann! I LOVE it! I don’t gravitate toward those types of stamps either, but the way you pieced this all together is so bright and cheerful, it would make anyone’s mailbox happy! Thanks for making those colors work together so well!

  12. Love this bright and cheery card. I really didn’t pay any attention to this set in the catalog but now it has my attention! Perfect for the color challenge. Also, a way of using some scraps for the landscape. Inside you could make it a birthday card, get well or just a happy hello one.

Our previous wonderful UPS driver decided the grass was not greener on the other side and has come back to his old route. He loves Teddy and almost always has a treat for him. Anyway, this would be a perfect welcome back card for him and maybe include a gift card for a cupcake or some yummy treat. Tony loves treats esp. chocolate. Thanks for a great idea Ann.

Wow! So bright and beautiful. I am not in love with blue, but when it is paired with a green of the same brightness I love it! Thanks for sharing.
