My Holiday Wish For You

It’s time for my holiday wish for you, my stamping friends!

Christmas 2022

The past three days I have been looking back at Cards of Christmas Past.  Today’s post features what may be my favorite card of them all.  Although it was heavily distressed, the snowflakes seemed to take on a glow of their own.  Pearls adorned their centers, and a beautiful bow was the finishing touch.  I would like to think that I still had this beauty tucked away somewhere, but sadly it was sent off to someone, a name which I do not recall. I would like to think that that they loved it as much as I did, and that it is tucked away among their mementos.

Christmas this year will be different here at the Schach house. Gone are the dogs who have been such a huge part of my life.

My heart is warmed by memories of Christmases past and the memories of those who enriched and blessed my life.  But I also rejoice in those who share my life now.

These three brighten each and every day with their antics, and fill my heart with joy.

Often at this time of year my thoughts turn to my childhood and growing up on the farm. Although we were poor in terms of material goods, we were rich in those things which are truly valuable…family and friends. Christmases past were not about the presents or the tree. They were about family. Grandmas and grandpas; aunts, uncles and cousins; my mother, my father and sister and brothers — all would join together during the holidays, sharing in a fellowship of love. Although most of those who shared these memories with me live on only in my heart, I realize that I am still blessed with a wonderful family of friends – my stamping friends – whom I have met through the years. We share. We care. We form alliances and relationships. We inspire. We encourage. We laugh together. We cry together. From my heart to yours, here is my holiday wish for you: I wish you a blessed holiday season and the happiest of New Years! May all your wishes come true!

Love, Ann

  14. A quote from the movie Fiddler On The Roof comes to mind. Just three words when I think of you – “Pearls! PEARLS! P E A R L S !!!!! Pearls of wisdom. Pearls of kindness! Pearls of friendship! Merry Christmas Ann!

  15. Like Marina, I believe Christmas should begin with Christ. After all he was born in a manger, with no gifts. the Magi didn’t see him till he was 2 yrs old! I’m Thankful for all family and friends. Mr. Hubster and I will be home and gleefully awaiting the Christmas calls from the kids and grands! We are blessed with that!
I don’t remember that particular card, but it is drop dead gorgeous!
I remember falling upon your blog through the Pretty Pals and signed up, just to see your cards! I loved you embellished well with pearls!
I too believe in bling! Thank you!
Merry Christmas to you and Kim and the fur babies!

  16. Such a beautiful message Ann. For me, it has never been of presents in the tree; just small and useful things. I heard a beautiful “Homelie” about the birth of Little Jesus. We have to teach children about the meaning of Christmas and that it is Little Jesus who fills our life with joy, peach, hope and health. I like the thought of Santa Claus, but it cannot replace our belief in Little Jesus. I think Christmas like many other celebrations has been too commercialized. Once again, a beautiful holidays season with your beloved ones.

  17. A beautiful card! I would have been so honored to have received that card in the mail. Wow!!
Christmas is so much different now than when my sisters and parents were still here on earth. But I have the memories. I’m blessed to have my daughters, grandchildren and one super duper great granddaughter. Due to weather we won’t be together physically but we will be in spirit. Our gathering will be the weekend of the 6th of January depending on the weather of course.
Today, thanks to technology, we’ll be doing a lot of face timing and shall enjoy each other that way.
Have a blessed Christmas and may the New Year bring all the joy and blessing imaginable.

  18. Oh wow. If I had socks on, they would have been knocked off by that card, and they would have been wet from the tears falling from reading your post. I have no more words. Merry Christmas!
