Red and green, with touches of gold, are the traditional warm colors for holiday cards. But how about blue and silver Christmas wishes for a change? It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players!
It’s time for our monthly color challenge, and the amazing Jaydee has selected a gorgeous combination of colors for us:
For my choice of blue, I went with Night of Navy, going heavy on the silver. How about you? What blue hue will you do? I can’t wait to see what you create!
The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
I am mad about plaid. I find tartan tantalizing. I go “ga-ga” over gingham. And I find that when creating a Christmas card in non-traditional holiday colors, it sometimes helps to go with a traditional Christmas pattern, like plaid. I turned to one of my favorite holiday bundles, Leaves of Holly, for stunning die cuts which are beautiful in silver foil. Black and white were limited to the sentiment, and three simple black matte dots. The result is a card with traditional holiday touches and a cool, elegant vibe.

So pretty Ann! Love the plaid background and the silvwr foil is such an elegant detail.
Ann, this is gorgeous! I love the plaid background and the blue and silver is fantastic together! The small amount of black really makes the colors pop! This is just so beautiful! Have a great weekend, My Friend!
Hah, I confess that I am ga-ga for gingham too! So plaid is almost as good! And it’s a perfect background for these gorgeous holly leaves. Just beautiful!
Ann, another masterpiece. The plaid is gorgeous and those beautifully arranged leaves are fabulous. I am obsessed with those leaves! I agree with you about the plaid – although, for some reason, I’m not as ga-ga over gingham. Oh yeah. I remember why! Our summer school uniform was blue and white gingham or yellow and white. Considering I was at school in the groovy years….. not quite on trend 🙂 However, your card is absolutely on trend. Thank you for rocking my colors this week
Hugs
Jaydee
Absoluty gorgeous card 🤩💐
Happy day
The navy and silver on here make this card look so fancy, I love it! I, too, am mad for plaid–I’m really going to miss that plaid pattern when they retire these DSP color family packs, it’s my favorite! Love the look of the holly all in silver, it’s a fun switch-up from snowflake cards with these colors.
What a festive and elegant card, Ann! I loved reading your tips about choosing plaid as a traditional pattern. It looks fabulous with the silver greenery. Gorgeous!
This has to be one of my faves you have made! I love everything about it!
Gorgeous!
It’s a really beautiful card! I love using blues (especially navy) with silver or gold. There are so possibilities other than red and green for Christmas.
Wow, this is amazing! I have the blues lately and this just really brightened my mood. One of the doctors I worked for in Houston remarried and this will be a great card for combining the Jewish holiday and Christmas for them. Love the elegant look with that plaid. Just a perfect card with a change of Seasons Greetings and maybe Happy Birthday for a friend who will love this as well.
Beautiful card, Ann! Blue & silver is such an elegant combination.
As hard as I try every year to make a red & green Christmas card, I usually end up with a blue & silver card. Your card is perfect for me! Thanks for sharing your creation! I love it!
Ann, this is so pretty! Plaid is one of my favorites and it looks so elegant here! Great job with the color challenge! Have a great week!
It looks so elegant!!! I will make it!!!
Blue and silver together make for some lovely cards. You have created a beautiful creation. That pit of black really gives that bit of excent color and sets things off nicely.
We were clearly on a similar wavelength this week my friend with the same set – but two totally different cards! I love this set and feel I haven’t used it enough, so am off to case your card – I love this contemporary colour scheme for Christmas cards and agree the plaid adds a traditional vibe whilst also being in keeping with the contemporary feel. Gorgeous with a capital G!!
Me too, about the plaid, and I prefer silver over gold. This card is exceptional! Thanks for sharing. Peace.
