You Are Always Loved

The sentiment, “You are always loved”,  graces this simple Scottie dog card. Yep! Scotties – they’re not just for Christmas! It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players!

You Are Always LovedThis week, the wonderful Claire has a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge for us.  I went straight across the top row, with yellow, person or animal, and embossing.  I can’t wait to see what YOU create!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

I am a Scottie dog collector. I LOVE Scotties. As you might guess, I was thrilled when Stampin’ Up! released the Christmas Scottie bundle. While a lot of people associate Scotties with red plaid, a color which gives them a distinct Christmas vibe, I’m on a crusade to show that Scotties are not just for the holidays! When paired with So Saffron, the rather feisty and reserved Scottie – I lived next door to one for many years – assumes a jaunty air.  It’s a fun and easy card to create. While I used the retired Stitched So Sweetly dies to create the scalloped panel, if a person did not have them, a simple Basic Black mat would work just fine.  The Gingham embossing folder was used for the backdrop.  Embellishments consist of white matte dots .

Nueve’s Notes

Hi, everyone! It’s me, Nueve! I’ve got big news to share. My sister, Sixxy, showed in a dog show last weekend, and she won! She did really good, and didn’t even bark at anyone. She got ribbons just like I get. But, she didn’t get a toy like me.  My best friend, Michelle, showed her.  Michelle said Sixxy is very pretty, but I’m handsome!

You Are Always Loved

There were lots of pretty flowers where we were. I wanted my picture taken, too. So the next day, Michelle took lots of pictures with me. It was really hot, and I had trouble keeping  my mouf closed.   We took a bunch like this:

You Are Always Loved

And bunches like this, where my dad was making a squeaky toy dance on top of his head. He looked really silly.  He tried to make it dance on top of Mom’s head, but she didn’t like it.  I liked it though.

You Are Always LovedI was afraid there might be buzzy bugs, but I didn’t see any.  Then I got silly and started giving kisses.  Sometimes I just can’t help myself.  It makes Michelle happy, and she makes funny faces.

You Are Always LovedYep! Making people happy – that’s one of my jobs. I’m a working dog. I am Good Boy Nueve!

  1. I *almost* put this bundle on my order yesterday and ended up not doing it–now I’m kicking myself, but I’m sure I’ll acquire it next time I do an order 🙂 Love your adorable Scottie dog on the yellow plaid, he looks great!

  2. I love that you made a non-traditional background for your cute little scottie! He looks quite dapper in yellow!

  3. Ann, I love how you highlighted this dear scottie using yellow and gingham. He looks so dapper and this card is a delight! Loved hearing about Nueve too.

  4. Claire Broadwater

Ann, could this be any cuter???? I love that sweet, little Scottie dog. The black and yellow combo is just fabulous, too! That Nueve sure keeps you busy! Such a handsome fellow! I wish I could meet your family! Thanks for making my challenge shine this week!

  5. Great card!! I love this set and it can be used for so many other things besides Christmas. I make cards for some local rescue places and I can’t for them to see the new batches with this set, Congratulations Sixxy!! I am loving the new pictures!! Both of you look fantastic!!

  6. Oh Ann. What a wonderful way to showcase your little Scottie. I love the black with the yellow its such a gorgeous pop of color. Fabulous card
    hugs

  7. Ann, love the gingham background with the pop of black-too cute! And love the dogs’ stories as always! Have a great week!

  8. What a fun card your mom made. Thank you for the wonderful pictures you two sure are the best specimens of your boxer class. Wish I could have one just like you Nueve and Sixxy. Getting kisses from you would make my day.

  9. Chris from Pella

What a fun card and a fun post from Nueve! I had not thought about using the gingham EF as a background like you did! Great idea. There is an elderly woman who takes care of the flowers at Central College and tells the younger set how to plant things etc. She has a Scottie and I think this card would be perfect to thank her for her keeping the flowers gorgeous. Her scottie isn’t sure about Ted when we see them walking so they have not met yet. I think she get a kick out of a thank you card from us and including her dog! Congrats to Sixx for the win and love the photos!

  10. This card is so cute!! I LOVE the yellow paper and the adorable dog. Such a fun card.

  11. Scotties are such cute dogs and I guess I do typically think of them on Christmas cards but yours is great! Do Nueve and Sixxy get a little jealous of seeing a Scotty on your card? Congratuations to Sixxy on winning last weekend!

  12. I forgot about SIxxy oh I am so sorry Congratulations Sixxy .

    Good Girl

  15. I knew you were a dog lover but I had no idea that you were a Scottie collector – this set was a definite for you then! I’m not really a pet person yet I love it too – there’s something adorable about these cuties and you’re so right, not just for Christmas, especially when combined with this lovely sunny yellow too. Congratulations to Miss Sixx too!!

  16. Beautiful card and lovely choice of colors

  17. I am so glad Sixxy won in the event. Nueve, I am sure you were so proud of your sister . . . . and she didn’t even bark!!!! Good for her!!

  18. I bet you enjoyed making a doggie card. Colors are so bright and coordinate well together. Can’t lose when using black. Brought a smile to my face as the card turned out so cute.

  19. Good boy, Nueve. Your sister certainly is pretty and I’m glad you were proud of her. Your mommy did a great job creating her card. I only wish it were a Boxer instead of a Scottie…lol.

  20. Adorable card. Can’t beat black and yellow together. As a lover of boxers I am thrilled when Good Boy Nueve posts. You have two absolutely gorgeous boxers. Hugs to them both.

  21. Bonnielee McGuire

WOW! Being a Westie mom I also love Scotties, in the crafting world they are sometimes one and the same. Nothing reserved about my Westies though : ) The rescued one, Roscoe, has this very odd way of “watering the plants” – he doesn’t lift his leg and he doesn’t squat – he pushes down on his front legs and pops his back legs right into a show stack. And that’s the closest these crazy boys will ever get to showing : ) The card is of course magnificent, yellow being my favorite color, gingham or anything close to it, being my favorite “background”. I guess you noticed I broke down and bought that pack of paper – just couldn’t help myself. Anyway, the card is wonderful, the dogs are magnificent, you are the best, and Michelle has fantastic cheeks – must be from kissing so many great dogs! Thanks for sharing. Sending hugs.
