What could be better than a colorful fall birthday card? How about a clean and simple, quick and easy fall birthday card! It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players!
This week, the talented Jaydee is hosting our monthly Clean and Simple challenge. She has selected the theme of “Birthday” for us. Since I needed to make a couple of birthday cards for friends who have October birthdays, I thought a “leafy” fall birthday card would be in order. I can’t wait to see what YOU create! But remember, by Clean and Simple we mean cards that have:
- minimal layers
- few to no embellishments
- lots of clean white space (minimal patterns)

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
Today’s card is simple and straightforward. An embossed card base adds texture, while stamped leaves in hues of Crushed Curry, Mossy Meadow, and Cajun Craze provide a splash of color. They were die cut out and adhered to a Basic White panel. While this card may look feminine because of the sentiment’s font and the addition of rhinestones, we are fortunate that Stampin’ Up! has a variety of “Happy Birthday” sentiments with a more masculine vibe if you needed to create a “man-card”. The rhinestones could be left off, and a speckles stamp, such as is included in the Gorgeous Leaves set, could add interest while staying more masculine. Here’s an example with speckles:
