Slimline cards are fun to create! There’s just a wee bit more “real estate” to decorate, which makes it perfect for showing off a pretty designer paper or a favorite stamped image, like on today’s slimline lighthouse card. It’s time to play at Festive Friday – Home of the Inspo List!
For this week’s challenge, we are inspired by National Lighthouse Day. Remember, at Festive Friday, you do not need to actually celebrate the occasion. Your goal is to simply use three or more items from the inspiration list on your project. I used lighthouse, water, slimline card, blue, red, and twine on my card this week. I can’t wait to see what YOU create!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
For today’s card, I started with a vision. I wanted to feature the lighthouse from the Sailing Home stamp set, along with water and a starry sky. It just so happens that Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper, which is 15% off until August 2nd, has this fabulous washed paper which looks like a cloudy sky. It’s almost embarrassing how easy this card was to create using this paper. I used a retired set, Textured Essentials, to create the water, and added rhinestones for stars. As for the lighthouse, this was a great time to pull out watercolor pencils to add a touch of color.

Your card is absolutely gorgeous, Ann. That sky looks hand watercolored and I love the pearly stars. That lighthouse image is so wonderful and I love the color you added. I love that sentiment and it looks wonderful stamped on the white stitched circle and placed in a way that highlights that wonderful lighthouse. I love it!
