Floral Any Occasion Card for PP540

Today’s floral any occasion card reminds me of the childhood riddle, “What’s black and white and ‘read’ all over”?  This card is black and white, with a touch of red…and gray…and can be read for almost any occasion. It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players!

This week, it’s the talented Laurie’s turn to host our monthly color challenge. What a classic combination she has for us!  Red, black and gray! I can’t wait to see what you create!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

What a week it has been! Of course, there was the new catalog launch.  Plus, my retired stamps have been selling like hot cakes.  (Thank you to everyone who has placed orders or scooped up some of my retired bargains!)  Add to that, I have product shares which I plan on mailing out tomorrow.  Unfortunately, my “over-nighted” share order was delayed due to a late flight, and some routine medical procedures turned out to be “not-so-routine”.  It’s no wonder I needed to make an easy card for today’s challenge. It uses my “go-to” layout.  What’s even better is that the paper does all of the work for me!

The beautiful True Love designer series paper takes center stage. To add interest, I cut it out using the Stitched So Sweetly dies, and matted it onto Real Red cardstock.  Although the paper is a little busy, I still added a few floral die cuts, which I offset for a shadow effect.  Don’t you love the red bling?  An adorable mini-tag, with baker’s twine bow, was also added to the circle.  The ribbon was layered, shimmery Gray Granite over Real Red double stitched satin.  You might notice that the die cut flower and the white circle are textured.  They were cut from a piece of embossed paper left over from a previous project.  I love the look.
