Flowers For Friends

Looking for a card which will be a day brightener? Nothing beats flowers for friends! It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players!

Flowers for Friends

This week, LeAnne is hosting our color challenge. Don’t you love the colors she has selected for us?  I was so excited to play with these colors, and I hope you will be, too! I can’t wait to see what YOU create!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

When designing today’s card, I followed a modified version of the 60-30-10 rule, which is an easy guideline to help achieve color balance.  The numbers 60, 30 and 10 refer to the percentages of your design that each color will make up.  The dominant shade, which is usually neutral or subdued, takes up 60% of the card. The secondary color, which takes up 30% of the card, is typically brighter or bolder.   Finally, the accent color makes up the remaining 10%. My dominant color was Crumb Cake, along with the second neutral, Basic White. Misty Moonlight was the secondary color, while Merry Merlot was my accent color.

A die cut butterfly, adorned with pearls, is perched atop the blossoms, which were colored with Stampin’ Blends and fussy cut from True Love Designer Series Paper. Although it doesn’t show in the picture, Clear Wink of Stella adds subtle shimmer to the centers of the flowers and the leaf.

  17. Amazing how cards turn out so beautifully when all colors are combined together like this one. The bold colors chosen for the card makers are challenging but as usual your taste and design on this card turned out just right. Lovely choice of layout.
