Teacher Card

The school year is starting in many areas of the country, and teachers and staff members will definitely be facing hardships.  Being a veteran of the classroom, I know my former colleagues will meet the challenges with grace, compassion, love and understanding.  I thought this teacher card, combined with a cake and fruit to be delivered to my former building,  would be a spirit lifter. It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players.

This week, dear sweet Claire is hosting our monthly Clean and Simple challenge. The theme is Back to School.  Remember, by Clean and Simple we mean:

Minimal layers and embellishments
Plenty of open space, or “white” space
Simple and uncluttered
Grab those stamps, inks and papers. We can’t wait to see what YOU create!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

Stampin’ Up!’s new Best Plaid Builder dies are so much fun. I created this pink and gray confection from Peony Garden designer series paper. It really is SO easy to do.  A small peony, colored with Stampin’ Blends, and a leafy stem ground the sentiment.  A trio of rhinestones add a touch of bling.  If you would like to step it up, just think how awesome this would look with a rhinestone at each intersection, and a double bow!teacher card

  1. That background is just fabulous Ann and when I saw your card in the drafts before we published I went straight to my catalogue to find that sentiment – it is just perfect for a back to school card and I had not noticed it at all. Just wonderful!

  2. Ann, pink and grey plaid is gorgeous. I never think of plaid in feminine colors, but it SO works! I also love the sentiment for a back to school card. Fabulous card

  5. You had me at pink and gray, then combining the floral dsp with the gray plaid definitely made your card swoon material, my dear Ann! The sentiment anchored by the stamped floral image was the perfect way to finish things off. I know your former colleagues will be grateful for your thoughtfulness and generosity. Such a wonderful gesture for the hard working teachers on the front lines during this pandemic.

  6. WOW factor card. Absolutely love that back ground and such a gorgeous peony stamp & die set. I was going to order it, but ended up ordering something else in it’s place. Have seen so many stunning cards using the peony set.

    Yes, many challenges for the teachers, students & parents this year. A situation for everyone involved.
    We reached 104 deg. yesterday & that was not including the heat index. No air movement whatsoever. Just Hot.
    If we had chickens I think they would had been laying hard boiled eggs. :}
    I can’t wait till Fall get here and for them temperatures to drop.
    Ann, take care, stay safe & keep cool.
