Flowers and friendship go hand in hand, don’t you think? With today’s easy Peony Garden floral friendship card, I’m back to doing one of my favorite things – pairing a stunning floral paper with a sweet sentiment. It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players!
This week, Anne Marie has a fabulous sketch for us. I’ll admit, I’m not usually one to add diagonal elements to a card. I’m more of a right angle kind of gal. However, I LOVE the way Anne Marie tucked the diagonal layer behind the main panel. It’s perfect for showcasing coordinating designer paper, for which Stampin’ Up! is so well known. I can’t wait to see what you create as The Paper Players begin our journey to the next 500 challenges!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
Peony Garden is one of my favorite designer series paper collections from Stampin’ Up!’s Annual Catalog. The floral pattern I used today can be the star of any card. I lightly tinted it with Stampin’ Blends, (the details are in the free tutorial), and added a few Champagne rhinestones. And how about the Paver pattern paper from the In Good Taste collection, which was used in the diagonal piece? Doesn’t this entire layout remind you of walking through a garden on a paver pathway?
As I was cleaning out my stash last week, I happened to find an old sparkly Gelly Roll pen, which was perfect for outlining the flowers, as you can see in the photo above. A double Petal Pink bow was all that was needed to complete the card. Quick…easy…and fit for the finest friend!

Muffy Speaks
Hey, Mom’s stampin’ friends! It’s been such a long time since I have talked with you. Things have changed here at my home. I have two new puppies, Sixx and Nueve, to teach the ways of the pack. They definitely keep me and Mom busy. They are so silly! And, my brother, Brody, is still with us. His sleeps are getting sounder and longer these days, and my Mom has to shake him to wake him up. He has fought valiantly over the past years, and he still eats and potties well. But I catch my Mom crying often, and I hear her talking with him, telling him that he has been a brave boy, and to let her know when he is ready to leave. It saddens me to think of my life without my womb-mate. And it saddens me to know how sad my Mom will be when we have to say good-by. But for now, I ready myself for what I know the future holds, and I cherish every day I have with my brother…
As always, if you have any questions about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away! Until next time…

Gorgeous mix of patterns and I love the subtle shading. Of course, the pops of sparkle add the perfect touch! Thanks for rocking my sketch this week.
Your card is gorgeous Ann – I love the way you showcase the floral paper and added the sparkly detail. A fabulous bow too! Thinking of you – great photo of Brody and Muffy <3
Well. You’ve gone and made me cry. They just leave us so stinkin’ fast – always way sooner than we could ever be ready. I am sorry that shoe is just waiting to drop, my friend. So sorry that decision awaits you – our most important and hardest. 🙁 Your card, however, made me smile. It is stunning. LOVE the sparkly outline and the big bow! 🙂
The soft coloring of the peony panel coupled with the gray papers in the background just make this so soothing to the eye and whoever the lucky friend is that receives it will definitely cherish this beauty!
I remember when Brody and Muffy were pups. I’m so sorry Brody is in ill health, Ann. Our fur babies always leave us too soon.?
Your card is so classy. Beautiful. I’m sorry to hear your Brody is not well. We love our pets so much, it’s not easy to accept their lives are shorter than ours. Bless his sweet heart.
I am so sorry to hear that Brody is so ill. Praying for you and Brody.
Your card is so beautiful Ann. I love the way you tied your ribbon!
Your card is beautiful! I did not know Brody isn’t doing well. Can I ask what is happening with him? It’s good to hear Muffy is doing well. Sending hugs!
Oh, what a sad but sweet letter by Muffy. I love how Brody and Muffy are “holding paws” in their photo. Blessings to all of you!
Karen
Your card is stunning! Pink & gray are so elegant. Beautiful bow, too!
It breaks my heart to hear about Brody. I remember when he was a pup. It’s heart-wrenching to lose our fur babies. Take some comfort in knowing he’s had a wonderful, happy & full life. They just leave us too soon.
Ann,
Beautiful card!
Sorry Brody isn’t doing well. It’s the hardest decision to have to make but you will know when the time is right. Hugs
