For poppies that “pop”, how about this clean and simple floral thank you card? It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players!
This week the super talented Joanne is hosting our monthly Clean and Simple challenge. She has selected a spring flowers theme for us. To be perfectly honest, I had to do a little research to see if poppies were a spring flower. Luckily for me, they do bloom from spring into early summer. Woo hoo! I can’t wait to see what flower YOU choose for your project!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
Today’s card combines texture, depth and dimension in a clean design. I stamped the flowers from the Painted Poppies set onto the Poppy Parade colored paper from the See A Silhouette Designer Series Paper collection. I then used the coordinated Painted Labels dies to die cut them out. Single leaves were stamped, colored with a Blender Pen and Old Olive ink, and also die cut out. Next I stamped the multiple leaves image directly onto a Whisper White panel, as shown, and “messy” watercolored using a Blender Pen and Old Olive ink.
The larger blossom and one smaller blossom were adhered to the panel. The “speckles” image was inked in black, stamped off several times, and then randomly stamped over the panel. The “Thank You” sentiment, from the Peaceful Moments stamp set, was also inked in black and stamped directly onto the panel in the upper right hand corner. The panel was then embossed using the Subtle embossing folder for texture. The remaining blossom and leaves were adhered using dimensionals. Of course, a little bling, in the form of Champagne rhinestones, was in order.

It’s hard to believe that the babies will be five weeks old tomorrow. How quickly time flies! In two weeks, Kendall will be returning to Canada, and in three weeks, the babies will be headed to their new homes. My heart is already breaking as the reality that I will never see some of them again sets in. I wish there was some way that I would be able to visit each and every one of them again – to see how they have grown, to see their tails wag in joy. All I hope for is that I have given them best possible start in life…
As always, if you have any questions about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away! Until next time…

Gorgeous Ann! I love the speckle detail and subtle embossing – it really steps up this card. You have nailed CAS this week!
Beautiful card, Ann! Love the vibrant colors.
Gorgeous puppies… I mean poppies :-). Heck they are all fabulous! I love your clean and simple poppies against that fabulous textured background. Gorgeous CAS card, Ann.

Oh Ann, I will get to your gorgeous card, but first I have to say that I can’t believe the babies are 5 weeks old already! I have tears in my eyes thinking of them going to their forever homes. How sad for you! You have been such an amazing Mommy to all of them. I wish I could have one of them. Warm hugs! They are so precious!
Your poppies are so pretty. I love the splattered background and the way you stamped the poppies on the PP card stock. The rhinestones are perfect and your card is gorgeous! I love it! Stay well, My Friend! XX
The bright poppies against the subtly spattered background are spectacular Ann. I love how you make so much happen on a truly CAS card! Wow, time does fly and I can imagine you can’t help but get very attached to those adorable pups. Thank you for sharing all them with us; seeing their sweetness is definitely an uplift in the day!
Gorgeous card! Love the embossed background and your watercoloring is perfect! I have loved watching the puppies grow up!
I fondly remember my grandmother’s poppies…their colors were so bright and bold compared to the other flowers in her garden! They were definitely the sassy ones! Your poppies just remind me of hers, so nicely done against the white background! I have enjoyed seeing the puppies too…so cute! TFS!
Poppies abound in the spring – and yours are wonderful! The colors are spot on – and I love love love your background! And the puppies. The PUPPIES!!! So sweet! TFS them with us, Ann! 🙂
Love the poppies and the puppies! Hope you can share some close ups of the puppies before they leave. It has been fun watching them grow.
Beautiful! Your poppies do “pop” just gorgeous.
Very pretty card. Love the coloring. Time flies. I hope you get to see some of the puppies as they grow up. Are they coming after Kendall or how does that work?
Hi Ann! I love your craft & have followed you for several years. But Kendall & those puppies are truly spectacular as well. Why is Kendall going back to Canada? Guess I missed that story? Loved ALL the puppy pictures ( along with the gorgeous cards) too. Thank you for sharing your craft & the puppies.
Patti
Gorgeous card. I was wondering about the puppies. You, momma and Kendall have done a great job at growing them up. The proof is that there are still 10 puppies! I’m sure making more beautiful cards will help fill the void of their leaving. Have a blessed week and thanks for sharing.
Your cards are always awesome!! Some simple and elegant!! But those puppies are awesome!! I used to breed German Shepherds (German Lines) And I do not think I ever had those many puppies in a litter. Ususally 6 once in a great while 7. They are a lot of work but very rewarding. I would say puppy puppy puppy and they all would stop and come running from wherever. Loved it. But back to the cards. Thank you for your ideas. we use them in our card ministry and they have picked up so many people!
