It’s time for the Festive Friday Challenge, where every challenge is a party! This week for FF0003, we are honoring National Panda Day, which is celebrated on March 16th. I LOVE Pandas, but I opted to do the twist, and created an FF0003 Black and White card. How about you? Will you celebrate National Panda Day OR will you take the twist option? Won’t you please join us and play along? But before you run off to grab stamps, paper and inks, let’s take a look at what I created!
FF003 Black and White: Flourishing Phrases
I wish you could see the sparkle! This is truly one card which is much prettier in person. The lack of a sentiment makes this card so versatile. It could be used to celebrate a variety of festivities – weddings, anniversaries, birthdays and more!
Colors of the Day
The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
A shadow effect was created by layering sparkling Iridescent Glimmer Paper die cuts over Basic Black die cuts, offsetting them just a smidge so that the black peeked out. These amazing die cuts were created using the Flourish Thinlits collection.
To add to the sparkle, a snippet of Basic Black Shimmer Ribbon was added.
And if that wasn’t enough sparkle, even more was added to the center of the Basic Gray and Smoky Slate flower!
Don’t these die cuts pack a “WOW” punch? What do you think? Won’t you let me know in today’s comment?
The Challenge Twists
Festive Friday is a challenge with twists. First, if you do not want to create a National Panda Day project, you could create a project using Black and White. We know not everyone celebrates the occasions which we will be featuring, so we are offering alternatives for each challenge. Secondly, if you play along with us, you will be earning Fest Points which can be redeemed for items such as tutorials (including the tutorial for today’s card), Stampin’ Up! products, design team cards, and even a spot as a Guest Designer! But remember: To earn Fest Points, you need an account on the challenge site. Just click on login/register on the challenge site to get started.
Would you like to create your own Flourishing Phrases card? If you enjoyed today’s card, and would like to create your own, the supply list is located below. Clicking on a product takes you right to my store. Be sure to use this month’s Host Code. Online orders over $50 (before tax and shipping) will receive a little gift from me IF you use the Host Code. Don’t forget, a $50 order will also qualify for a FREE Sale-A-Bration item! If your order is $150 or more, please do not use the Host Code. You will automatically receive the gift from me, as well as your own Host Rewards and Sale-A-Bration items.

Ann,
I agree with the others. This is definitely a “WOW” card. Love the swirls die cut here and beautiful in the black and white theme. Hugs.
Your card is absolutely stunning!!! I will be using these neutrals together in a card for sure. Smile BIG! 🙂

Very elegant.
Ohhh Ann, this is stunning! I have been struggling to come up with a card using this technique for my class, never came close to thinking this up.
Love the black & white. Looks so elegant and classy
Wow! What a beautiful card. I love how you offset with the black.
