Pearly Petite Pairs for Pals Paper Arts

IMG_1433It’s time for another challenge from Pals Paper Arts!  It’s a sketch this week, designed by the talented Nicole Watt.  Because I needed an elegant wedding card, that’s what I opted to create!  Of course, this pattern from the Something Borrowed Designer Series Paper Collection was talking to me:  “Pick me,  Ann…and add pearls!”  Well, who am I to argue with paper when it speaks to me?  So I picked it, and pearls I did add!  But notice how restrained I was?  I didn’t add a pearl at every point!  I hope you enjoy today’s very quick and very easy card.

This finished card measures 5-1/2″ wide by -4-1/4″ high.

  • Petite Pairs! Petite Pairs is one of the stamp sets which I forget to use.  This time, however, it seemed perfect for today’s card.  I dusted it off, inked it up in Soft Suede, and stamped away!  Of course, I had to add a few pearls.  Ah! The Power of the Pearl!

  • Diamonds and Pearls! The Diamond Pattern from the Something Borrowed Designer Series Paper collection adds a sophisticated, classy touch, don’t you think.  My birthstone is a diamond, and my given name, Margaret, is derived from the Greek word for pearl.  So it just seems like it was written in the stars that I add pearls to the diamond images!

  • Satin elegance! Whisper White Satin Ribbon forms the perfect elegant bow to finish up this card.  For greater fullness, I created  a double bow.  I just use an old-fashioned cardboard bow maker. It’s so easy!

IMG_1433-002I hope you enjoyed today’s card.  I was happy to be able to use a set that rarely ever sees the light of day.  And it’s  a shame really.  Petite Pairs is a sweet little set.  How about you? What is the one set you have in your collection that you never use, or you under-use?  Won’t you let me know in your comment today? And remember, if you have any questions about the cards I make, or the techniques I use, I am only an email away! Until next time…

  12. This card is so elegant. The beautiful bow and pearls add the perfect finishing touch. As to the stamp set getting the least use – all of them. Mojo has been missing for quite a while. I’m sure it will resurface at some point.
