Cherish Friendship for The Paper Players

It’s Sunday and time to play with The Paper Players! Today will be even more exciting as we welcome three new Guest Designers to the line-up! You really must stop by The Paper Players site to see what Cindy, Lauri and Sandra have created for you! As for me, I played with several of the items that I pre-ordered from the Stampin’ Up! 2011 – 2012 Idea Book and Catalog in creating this Thank You card for the Kind Thanks Theme Challenge.  I hope you enjoy it!




The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips:

  •  Watercolor delight! The NEW Cherish Friendship set is perfect for showcasing your water coloring skills.  I used the Blender Pen and Ink method, along with a few Stampin’ Write Markers for definition.  Colors selected include:  Basic Gray (chair), Crumb Cake (basket), Lucky Limeade, Wisteria Wonder, More Mustard, Soft Suede, Rose Red (flowers), Sahara Sand (shadowing).  For a special touch, a White Signo Gel Pen was used to add highlights.
  • Flower power!  A Scalloped Circle Punch Flower, made with First Edition Designer Series Paper, nestles neatly inside a Melon Mambo laser-cut Doily, snipped from the NEW Flirtatious Designer Series Paper.  The Doily was then sponged with Crumb Cake ink and kissed with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz.  A Baja Breeze Scallop Trim Border Circle, made with the NEW Perfect Pennants Bigz L Die, provides the perfect background accent!
  • Doily delight! Coordinate the look with a border punched with the NEW Lace Ribbon Border Punch and Flirtatious Specialty Designer Series Paper!
  •  Flag the sentiment! The “Thank You” sentiment from Curly Cute was inked in Early Espresso and stamped onto Naturals Ivory card stock.  Two little snips to flag the end adds instant pizzazz!  And isn’t the background Designer Series Paper fabulous?  It is from the NEW Pocketful of Posies Collection.

Buried Treasure with a Twist…Retiring Treasures

The Last Chance Stamp List was released June 1st.  Although it will be hard to say good-by to some of our old favorites, it will be exciting to meet our new friends! Sail Away with the PPA

It’s Thursday and time to play along with this week’s Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge..Cherry Cobbler, More Mustard and Not Quite Navy.  I hope you enjoy another vintage-style nautical card featuring one of my favorite Last Chance Accessories items…Antique Brass Jumbo Eyelets! Of course,  this card is all about the Pearls!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips:
  • Embedded Pearls!  Antique Brass Jumbo Eyelets take on a whole new look when Large Basic Pearls are inserted into their centers.
  •  Pearls in a line are so fine!  For an unexpected twist, I embellished the rope rigging with a string of Basic Pearls.
  •  Pearls in a curve accent the curls!

  • Anchors Away! A Not Quite Navy Anchor from The Open Sea was fussy cut and accented with a snippet of Cherry Cobbler/White Baker’s Twine.  And what do I spy with my little eye?  Why a pearl, of course!
  •  Cobbler bows! A trio of Baker’s Twine and Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding bows are affixed to a Vintage Trinkets Safety Pin for a touch of fun!
  •  The rest of the story!  The Sail Away sailboat was stamped with Early Espresso Craft Ink and embossed with Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  Edges were roughed with the Seven Sided Tool from the Cutter Kit and distressed with Soft Suede ink.  Instant speckling was achieved with the Color Spritzer Tool and a Soft Suede Stampin’ Write Marker, while the waterspots were achieved with the Waterspot stamp from the French Foliage set.
