What a fun challenge we have for you this week! It’s Anything Goes…What’s Your Signature Style? As for me, I do a lot of vintage. So I created this vintage-style emboss resist card using the retiring Friends 24-7 stamp set. I will be sharing with you some of my favorite “vintage” tips!
The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips: Creating a Vintage Look
Pick the right stamp! Not every stamp is suitable for a vintage-style card! With its flourishes and bird, Friends 24-7 fills the bill!
Pick the right technique! Emboss Resist works well in creating the vintage look. Here is a video from the archives to review this technique with you!
Pick the right details! Curled corners and flagged ends add a vintage flair! Distress the edges with Crumb Cake, add a snippet of Victoria Crochet Trim, a Linen Thread mini-bow, and a few watermarks (courtesy of the Watermark stamp from the French Foliage stamp set), and the sentiment takes on an aged appearance in an instant!
Pick the right embellishments! Baja Breeze Glass Glitter, soon to be retired, accents the image circle, while Basic Pearls are always the perfect vintage touch! A Trinket Key and a Baja Breeze Seam Binding bow completes the look!
