Hello, My Friend for The Paper Players

It’s Sunday and time to reveal this week’s The Paper Players challenge card.  For this week’s bright and cheery color challenge of Wild Wasabi, Melon Mambo, and Daffodil Delight, I have used the new Stampin’ Up! set, My Friend, available July 1st.  I hope you enjoy it!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips:  Dare to Be Adventurous

  • Dare to…stamp on Designer Series Paper!  The Hello sentiment from My Friend was inked in Basic Black and stamped directly onto Beyond the Garden Designer Series Paper.  Of course, I used a Stamp-a-ma-jig to help me position it perfectly.
  • Dare to…be whimsical! A scrap of Melon Mambo card stock was transformed into a frilly embellishment with a few little snips!
  • Dare to…distress! A Sponge Dauber and Soft Suede ink ages the edges of any paper in a matter of minutes.  A Color Spritzer Tool and a Soft Suede Stampin’ Write Marker adds instant “speckles”!
  • Dare to…bejewel! Basic Pearls enhance the sentiments!
  • Dare to…try a different style! Did you notice a “cleaner and simpler” Schach style for this card?  There is still a touch of vintage, but with fewer layers and frou-frou!
I hope you enjoyed today’s peek at the new My Friend stamp set.  What do you think of it? I was won over by the two sentiments!  What could be better than “Hello…my friend”?  Remember, your comments are important to me, so please let me know what you think of today’s card.  And if you ever have any questions about the cards that I create or the techniques that I use, I am only an email away! Until next time…

Card Winner
In Thursday’s post, I stated that I would randomly select one person from those of you who left comments to receive my “Friends” card that I designed for the Pals Paper Arts challenge.  So many of you left such sweet comments.  I consider myself very fortunate to have such wonderful blogging friends.

Using the random number generator, courtesy of Random.org, the lucky winner is #18:  KathyH.  Here is Kathy’s comment:

I would LOVE to receive this beautiful card! Vintage is my favorite style (which is why I read your blog all the time!). I have a friend who sends me a handmade card a couple times a year and I so treasure them. Those of us who make cards know how much time, care and love is invested in each and every card. Thanks for the opportunity and I would certainly treasure it as well! Gorgeous card as always!

Kathy, please email your address to me, and I will get your card mailed right away!

As always, I appreciate your comments.  And of course, I am always here to answer any questions that you might have about the cards that I create and the techniques that I use.  Until next time…
