A Peek at the PPA

Can you believe that it is Wednesday and time for a peek at this week’s Pals Paper Arts card?  This week I will be using a set from the new 2011 – 2012 Idea Book and Catalog.  I hope that you will join me tomorrow for the reveal.

Plus, a treat and a scratch behind the ears for little Muffy Schach! Muffy won her classes at the big dog show this past weekend.  Poor little Brody showed well, but was not a winner…according to the judges. However, he is a winner in our hearts.  Until next time…

2011 PALS Retirement Blog Hop

Welcome to the June PALS HOP! This month, we are featuring one last look at some of the stamps and accessories that are retiring July 1st when Stampin’ Up!’s  2011 – 2012 Idea Book and Catalog debuts. If you hopped over from Barbara Chatzkel, I’m stop Number 9 on the hopI’m glad you hopped in! I’ll help you “hop along” from blog to blog where you’ll find great ideas for paper crafted creations! Should you hop off course, simply click on any of the links in the PALS HOP LINE-UP at the end of today’s post and you’ll be back on track!  The retiring set which I will be showcasing is A Wish for Peace.  Enjoy!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips:   Extra Special Touches

Extra Special Touches could be as simple as…

  • …a trio of Basic Pearls in the corner!

  • …a dove in flight, with curled wings, popped up on a Stampin’ Dimensional!
  • …a Scalloped Border Circle trimmed with pearls and covered with Baja Breeze Glass Glitter!  This sweet little circle was created using the Perfect Pennant Bigz Die.  A 2-Way Glue Pen is a no-mess way to add glitter!

  • …a flagged sentiment!  Two snips is all it takes!
  • …an Antique Brad and Vintage Trinket Safety Pin!
  • …combining the two!
  • …curled corners! I use the File from the Distressing Essentials Kit, but a Stylus will also do the trick.
Retiring products used on this card include:  A Wish for Peace stamp set (W 111614), Baja Breeze Glass Glitter (121883),  Elegant Soiree Designer Series Paper (117163)

A Wish for Peace is one of my favorite Christmas stamp sets.  Although it will be retiring from Stampin’ Up!’s inventory, I have made the decision to keep it for my personal use, along with Friends 24-7.  How about you?  Is there a retiring set that you hate to see go?  And what do you think about today’s card?  Please leave a comment letting me know.  As always, I am always available to answer any questions about the cards that I create or the techniques that I use. I am only an email away.  Now hop along for more inspiring ideas from Joan Norris, stop Number 10 on the PALS HOP! Thanks for “hopping” by!  Until next time…

Hello, My Friend for The Paper Players

It’s Sunday and time to reveal this week’s The Paper Players challenge card.  For this week’s bright and cheery color challenge of Wild Wasabi, Melon Mambo, and Daffodil Delight, I have used the new Stampin’ Up! set, My Friend, available July 1st.  I hope you enjoy it!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips:  Dare to Be Adventurous

  • Dare to…stamp on Designer Series Paper!  The Hello sentiment from My Friend was inked in Basic Black and stamped directly onto Beyond the Garden Designer Series Paper.  Of course, I used a Stamp-a-ma-jig to help me position it perfectly.
  • Dare to…be whimsical! A scrap of Melon Mambo card stock was transformed into a frilly embellishment with a few little snips!
  • Dare to…distress! A Sponge Dauber and Soft Suede ink ages the edges of any paper in a matter of minutes.  A Color Spritzer Tool and a Soft Suede Stampin’ Write Marker adds instant “speckles”!
  • Dare to…bejewel! Basic Pearls enhance the sentiments!
  • Dare to…try a different style! Did you notice a “cleaner and simpler” Schach style for this card?  There is still a touch of vintage, but with fewer layers and frou-frou!
I hope you enjoyed today’s peek at the new My Friend stamp set.  What do you think of it? I was won over by the two sentiments!  What could be better than “Hello…my friend”?  Remember, your comments are important to me, so please let me know what you think of today’s card.  And if you ever have any questions about the cards that I create or the techniques that I use, I am only an email away! Until next time…
