Snow Swirled for The Players

It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players! This week the talented and lovely Lesley Croghan is hosting a Clean and Simple Red and Green Christmas challenge! So I grabbed my favorite red and green card stocks…Cherry Cobbler and Always Artichoke…and the Snow Swirled stamp set.  Today’s card is quick, easy and so pretty in person.  If you have an extra thirty minutes in which to create, this is the card for you!  I hope you enjoy!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips:  Embossing Elegance
  • Emboss! The Flourish from Elements of Style was inked with VersaMark and randomly stamped onto Cherry Cobbler card stock.  Heat embossing with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder produces a simply elegant background!
  • Emboss again! The Tree from Snow Swirled was inked with VersaMark and stamped onto Very Vanilla card stock.  Once again, the image was heat embossed using Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder, producing the perfect focal point!
  • Pearls! Basic Pearls were colored red using a permanent marker and placed into the centers of the  snowflakes.  The result adds a “pop” of color!
  • Velvet! A Very Vanilla Velvet Stitched Ribbon and bow is the perfect finishing touch!

I hope you enjoyed today’s quick and easy card! Won’t you please let me know what you think by leaving me a comment? I do appreciate your comments, and I do read each and every one.  And remember, I love answering questions about the cards that I create and the techniques I use.  I am only an email away!Until next time…

    A Peek at The Players

It’s Saturday and time for a little peek at Sunday’s The Paper Players challenge card.  I hope that you will join me tomorrow for the reveal.  In the meantime, check out the Cuts Above and Headliner for last week’s challenge! You won’t be disappointed!

“Wolfman Brody” was a big hit last night with Brady and his friends…as were the cookies!  Brady’s concert was fabulous! He did such a wonderful job with his solo.  As for Muffy…she enjoyed the extra attention she received from Brady’s friends.  Many of them left pets behind at home…so it was an added treat for them to enjoy her company for a couple of hours.

    Catalog CASE with a Twist

Instead of today’s Buried Treasure, I thought I would share with you the items I will be taking to Brady the Boy this evening.  He has another concert tonight, with a solo, so Kim, Muffy and I will be heading out in a few hours to listen to him perform.  Well…at least Kim and I will be listening.  Muffy will be hanging out with a couple of Brady’s non-musical friends while we are in the Performing Arts Center.  In case you are wondering about the other Twin, Brody the Boxer is heading on his way to Mason City, Iowa to show.  He needs the experience in the ring, since he was idle for a few months when he had his surgery.

Sometimes I don’t always have time to design something original, and that was the case with today’s projects.  I wanted something cute to take cookies and candy to Brady this evening, so out came the Halloween Creeps set and a CASE from the Holiday Mini.  I did not even switch it up…except for one little Wolfman twist!

Can you see what I did? I know Brady will get a kick out of it.  Luckily I had a perfect Brody head shot that would work.

As for the cookie container, I re-covered a 10 cent yard sale find with Frightful Sight paper and added a ribbon trim.  It’s nothing fancy, but is just perfect for Brady’s favorite cookies!  After taking the photograph and putting away the light tent, I did notice that I had a corner issue.  Out came the trusty Glue Dots and Sticky Strip, and the ribbon has been re-pleated and pulled up…although Brady probably would have never noticed it!

    Card Winner

The random number generator has spoken, and the winner of this card is:   Leslie Swearinger.

Simply astonishing! Hmmm – I don’t happen to have the gently falling stamp set and I adore it every time I see you use it. I also am a huge fan of the new Pool Party and recently used it to make a Christmas card. It truly is a versatile “all seasons” color! Thanks for continuing to inspire me each and every day.

I am sending  a BIG thank you to everyone who left comments.  I really do appreciate them.  I am in the process of catching up on my emails after last week’s issues…and in case I have not replied to you yet, I want you to know that I do read each and every one of them! As always, if you ever have any questions about the cards that I create or the techniques that I use, never hesitate to email me.  Until next time…
