Sleepy Dog
I always have my camera ready in case I catch one of the Twins engaging in something cute.  Yesterday, after playing catch by herself, Muffy jumped up into her favorite chair, ball in tow, and tries to fight off sleep.  Enjoy these cute “Stages of Sleep” photos!
In her favorite chair, with her ball…
The head goes down…
The eyes start to close…
Shhh! Muffy’s asleep!
Winner of the Rub-Ons

Thank you to everyone who left comments on The Paper Players sneak peek and reveal.  The randomly selected winner of the Holly and Jolly Rub-Ons is #61:  irishgalkelly.  Here is what Kelly had to say:
Hi Ann! This card is fabulous! I love your rich, comforting colors. The skaters, the plaid, the beautiful trees, and pearls. I love the way your trees look embossed!

I had the chance to listen to Brady and his performance. So, so beautiful! Such talent. There were some fingers flying from him and his pianist! Thanks for sharing. I’d love to hear some more someday!

Thanks for the sweet comment, Kelly! If you will send me your address, I will zip your rub-ons off in the mail in time to create quick and easy cards for the holidays!  Once again, I do appreciate everyone’s comments and support! Until next time…

Winter Post for The Paper Players

It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players.  This week Lesley has designed a fabulous sketch for you. Thinking that the Skaters from Winter Post in a Designer Frame would be a perfect choice for this layout, I armed myself with Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso and Very Vanilla card stocks and matching inks.  After all, with such a trio of yummy colors, how could I go wrong! I hope you enjoy today’s card!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips:  Rich and Warm Cards

Finished Dimensions:  4-1/4″ wide x 5-1/2″ long

  • The Power of Texture!   The Trees image from Lovely As a Tree was inked with Early Espresso and stamped onto Very Vanilla card stock.  It is a lovely image indeed.  But in a matter of seconds, with just a few cranks of the Big Shot handle and the Square Lattice Textured Impression Embossing Folder, lovely becomes warm and rich. This is the power of texture!

  • The Poetry of Pearls! Custom tinted Basic Pearls draws the eye straight to the unique ribbon treatment.  The Cherry Cobbler color was achieved with red and brown permanent markers.

  • Mad for Plaid!  A tartan pattern from Frostwood Lodge anchors the image mat. Doesn’t plaid just exude warmth? It reminds me of my undergraduate days at Monmouth (IL) College…Home of the Fighting Scots!  And yes, we had pipers with kilts! I know there are those who will disagree…but to me, there is nothing more hauntingly beautiful than bagpipe music!
  • Fabulous Frames! Want to draw attention to your image?  What better way than to frame it! The Skaters from Winter Post were inked with Cherry Cobbler and stamped onto Very Vanilla card stock.  After a few spritzes with the Color Spritzer Tool and the addition of Dazzling Details, this portrait of wintery fun was framed in an Early Espresso frame made with the Designer Frames Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

So what do you think of today’s card?  Won’t you please leave me a comment and let me know?  In hindsight, I would have heat embossed the Skaters with Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Emboss Powder…but hindsight is 20-20 as they say! And never forget…if you ever have any questions about the cards that I create or the techniques that I use, I am only an email away…

End Notes:   Crystal Effects and Classic Reinkers should work for custom coloring pearls…since the Crystal Effects works as a binding agent. The next time I custom color pearls, I will try it out.
And Brady wants me to thank everyone who watched his video and sent congratulations! To say he was thrilled and happy would be an understatement! If you missed it the first time, click HERE.

A Peek at The Players and Free Rub-Ons

It’s time for a peek at this week’s The Paper Players card.  The lovely Lesley has a fabulous challenge in store for you Sunday, and I know you will want to play along!  It’s easy enough to see that I used the gorgeous plaid paper from the Frostwood Lodge Designer Series Paper collection, but what else do I have in store?   Join me for Sunday’s reveal to see if your guess is correct!

Free Rub-Ons

As I was working in my “Stamp Pantry”, I encountered these nifty Holly and Jolly Rub-Ons from last year.  I know that I will not be using them, and I thought that maybe one of you could put them to good use.  Just leave me a comment on today’s sneak peek or Sunday’s reveal by 10:00 PM CST, and I will use a random number generator to select a winner.  The winner will be named in  Monday’s post.
