Little Friends for Freshly Made Sketches

Well, the cat is out of the bag! I am honored to be selected to the Freshly Made Sketches Design Team.  Thank you so much to the creator of Freshly Made Sketches, Lesley Croghan, for selecting me to be a part of this talented group through December. And I would like to thank all of you for your vote of confidence in my abilities to be “clean” when I need to be clean!  For my first FMS challenge, my good friend, the fabulously talented Linda Callahan, created this sweet little sketch.  I thought it would be a super sketch for showcasing one of Stampin’ Up!’s new Designer Series Paper, Floral District.  Enjoy!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips: Mixing Patterns

This finished card measures 4-1/2″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.

  • The Bold and the Beautiful! When mixing patterns, pay attention to the scale of the patterns.  On this card, three different patterns have been mixed. But notice the scale and the hues…two softer, smaller patterns coordinate perfectly with a slightly larger, bolder pattern.  All are from the new Floral District Designer Series Paper.
  • Faux watercolor! Watercoloring is a snap when using Blender Pens and inks.  To enhance the watercoloring effect, outline the entire image with Sahara Sand!
  • Scallops! After a quick zip through the Big Shot with the Adorning Accents Edgelits, a straight edge is transformed into a scalloped delight!
  • Finish with a bow! A So Saffron 3/8″ Taffeta Ribbon adds the perfect finishing touch!

I hope you will join us at Freshly Made Sketches this week…and I hope you like this Little Friends card! Won’t you let me know in today’s comment? Your comments are important to me, and I do read each and every one.  Of course, I am always willing to answer any questions you may have about the cards I create or the techniques I use.  I am only an email away!  Until next time…

Mouthwatering for The Paper Players

It’s Sunday and time to play with The Paper Players! This week the talented Jaydee has a fabulous theme challenge for us:  Summertime! To me, nothing screams summer like ICE CREAM!  So I pulled out the Mouthwatering stamp set and some retired Sweet Shop Designer Series Paper and set about preparing my triple scoop mouthwatering delight! This paper version has zero calories! Enjoy!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips: A Sweet Summer Card

This finished card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.

  • Fun colors! Summertime and fun colors go hand-in-hand.  A Lucky Limade card base coupled with a Calypso Coral mat anchors a whimsical, multicolored pattern!
  • Yummy for your tummy! Scoops of ice cream were created with Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose, and Daffodil Delight inks, while the Soft Suede waffle cone was zipped through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing FolderBasic Pearls adorn the cone and Dazzling Diamonds add sparkle to the ice cream.  The cherry-on-top receives its extra shine from Crystal Effects.
  • A cute sentiment! What could be better for a fun sentiment than “just for fun” from the Sweets for the Sweet stamp set.  Banner snip one end and tuck it under a Pool Party Seam Binding Bow, and one sweet little sentiment is complete!
How Did She Do That?

Isn’t that frame under the ice cream cone cute?  I zipped Whisper White card stock through the Big Shot with an Apothecary Accents Framelit.  Next, I traced around the outer edge of this same framelit on Calypso Coral card stock, and snipped it out.  The two layer perfectly!

Ann to the Rescue!

Want to CASE this card, but you don’t have the retired Sweet Shop Designer Series Paper?  Never fear! If you would like a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of the cute background paper and a strip of the Wisteria Wonder polka dot paper, just email me.  I have enough to share with ten of you.

So what do you think of today’s summery fun card? Won’t you let me know in today’s comment?  Your comments are important to me, and I do read each and every one of them.  Of course, you know that if you ever have any questions about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away.  Until next time…

(Just a note about Brody:  We take him to the vet tomorrow morning, Monday.  Instead of having one more bump checked out, he is having two checked out.  We found another Saturday evening.  Hopefully these two will just be fatty tumors or cysts.  Of course, we will have them biopsied.  I will definitely keep you informed.   I am so appreciative of all of your emails.  Your loving and kind thoughts are helping me through this difficult time…)
