Feminine and Fabby for Pals Paper Art

Are you ready for a fabulous sketch?  If so, today is your lucky day, because it’s time for a Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge!  What a perfect sketch to showcase these gorgeous patterns from the Tea for Two Designer Series Paper collection.  Enjoy!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
The finished card measures 5-1/4″ by 5-1/4″.

  • Dynamic duo! The Floral and Calypso Coral Polka Dot patterns from the Tea for Two Designer Series Paper collection are a perfect pair.  Why do they work so well together?  It’s the commonality of color.  Both patterns contain Calypso Coral and Very Vanilla.
  • “Pop” up a posy! The Solid Flower from Stippled Blossoms was inked in Calypso Coral, stamped off once, and then stamped onto Naturals Ivory card stock.  The Stippled Overlay was inked in Soft Suede and stamped off once before over-stamping. After snipping out the completed flower, Stampin’ Dimensionals were used to “pop” it up above the card’s surface.
  • Embossed! The Thanks So Much sentiment from the Oh Hello set was heat embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  The Stippled Overlay from Stippled Blossoms was inked in Soft Suede, stamped off, and then randomly stamped over the banner.  Lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral, and Crumb Cake inks were used in the emboss resist technique.

This card was a snap to makeIt could easily be re-designed into a 5-1/2” wide by 4-1/4” long card.  Of course, if you did not want to use so many pearls, you could leave off the strips.

This card will be winging its way to the girls’ handler, Rhonda, to thank her for the fabulous weekend.  Lexi won her class both days, and Muffy won her extremely competitive class on Saturday.  They looked so pretty, and showed so well!

I hope you enjoyed today’s card.  Won’t you let me know what you think in today’s comments? As always, your comments are so important to meI do read each and every one! And remember, if you ever have any questions about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away! Until next time…

Clean and Simple Buttons and Bows for The Paper Players

It’s Sunday and time to play with The Paper Players! This week the sweet and talented Anne Marie has a Clean and Simple Challenge: A Project Featuring Buttons and Bows for Baby! I pulled out my trusty Baby Bundle stamp set and inked up the Baby Carriage.  Since a former student of mine will soon be giving birth to a baby girl, a little pink pram was in order! Enjoy!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips: Clean and Simple Baby Card
This finished card measures 4-1/4″ wide x 5-1/2″ long.

  • Pearled and paper pieced pram!  The Pink Pirouette Lace Designer Paper, from the Fan Fair collection, seemed the perfect choice for paper piecing the Baby Carriage from Baby Bundle.  Of course, as always, I just had to add all those pearls…especially since this card will be hand-delivered.
  • Buttons! White Floral Buttons, from the Neutrals Designer Buttons collection, fit perfectly into the scallops formed from the lacy Delicate Designs Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  Snippets of Pink Pirouette card stock ensure that there are no “naked” buttons!
  • Bows! A single Whisper White bow, crafted from 5/8″ Organza Ribbon, accents the focal image.

If time is at a premium, you can certainly forgo paper-piecing the Baby Carriage.  It is just as cute colored, as it is pieced! And if you need to mail it, you can certainly leave off all of those pearls.  Gasp…I almost can’t believe that I said that! But it is cute with just three pearls…two on the wheels and one on the hinge of the canopy.

What do you think of today’s card?  Won’t you let me know in your comment? Your comments mean a lot to me, and I do read each and every one of them.  And please, if you ever have any questions about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away!  Until next time…

By the Tide for the Pals Blog Hop

Thank you for joining us for the February Pals Blog Hop! Today the Stampin’ Pretty Pals are excited to introduce you to the Stampin’ Up! products we LOVE. We hope you find new ideas for using the products you already have – or find new items to add to your Wish List.

You should have just left stop number 6 on the Pals Hop: Peggy Noe at Pretty Paper Cards. If so, you are in the right spot.  If you get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog.  And now on to my card for today.

By the Tide

Our goal for this hop is to introduce you to products we love.  My problem is that I love so much in the new Spring Catalog, it was difficult to narrow down my list.  However, being a naturalist at heart, I fell in LOVE with the By the Tide stamp set the moment I saw it.  Perhaps it was the gorgeous sea shell, or maybe it was the lacy sea fan, that stole my heart.  Whatever it was, I am happy to share this card with you. Enjoy!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips:  Depth and Dimension
This finished card measures 5-1/2″ wide by 4-1/4″ long.

  • Embossed and sponged! After randomly stamping the background with images from By the Tide, the Sea Fan was heat embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss PowderPink Pirouette, Baja Breeze, and Crumb Cake were lightly sponged over the surface.  Because the bare section on the upper left corner bothered me, I stamped a flower image from Stippled Blossom on a whim.  Flowers and sea life? What was I thinking? But I like the unexpectedness it!
  • All that glitters! The Sea Shell image was stamped three more times, and sponged with Pink Pirouette and Baja Breeze.  After snipping out with Paper Snips, Dazzling Diamonds glitter was added for a touch of glitz.  Popping them up on Stampin’ Dimensionals adds depth.
  • Pearly eyes! Tinted lightly with Certainly Celery, a trio of  Sea Horses search the seascape with their Basic Pearl eyes!
  • Dare to stamp on Designer Paper! The Dare to Dream sentiment, from Loving Thoughts, was stamped directly onto a snippet of Fan Fair Designer Series Paper!

I know everybody always says it, but this card really is so much prettier in person. The colors are softer and more subtle.  What do you think of today’s card?  Won‘t you let me know in today’s comment? Your comments are important to me, and I do read each and every one! As always, if you have any questions about the cards I create, or the techniques I use, I am only an email away!
