All Dressed Up for The Paper Players

It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players! This week the talented LeAnne has a theme challenge for us: In Stitches.  You may use anything sewing themed, stitched, or even funny.  I opted to use the Dress Up Framelits, with its Dress Form,  and the Needlepoint Border Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  Enjoy!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips:  All Dressed Up
This finished card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″  long.

  • Beautiful bodice! A trio of Pearl buttons, a Pool Party belt created from Ruffled Ribbon which has been trimmed, and a So Saffron Flower punched with a punch from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack accessorize the bodice of our cute little dress!
  • In stitches! The Needlepoint Border Textured Impressions Embossing Folder is a quick and easy way to add faux stitching.
  • Birthday banner! The Happy Birthday sentiment, inked in Riding Hood Red, is a perfect finishing touch to this feminine birthday card.

I had an absolute blast creating today’s card.  In fact, I can’t wait to see what other adorable dresses I can create.  It reminded me so much of  playing with paper dolls when I was little. I would love to hear what you think of my creation today.  I thought cutting the plaid on the bias was a great idea.  Hmmm…I wonder what Tim Gunn would have to say about my Project Runway Daywear creation.  Won’t you let me know what YOU think in today’s comment? Your comments are important to me, and I do read each and every one.  Of course, if you have any questions about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away.  Until next time…

Stippled Blossoms Tea for Two for The Paper Players

Are you searching for an awesome sketch?  Here comes The Paper Players to the rescue!   I added a few little touches and interpretations of my own, and created a card featuring the Tea for Two Designer Series Paper.  Enjoy!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
This finished card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.

  • Doily delight! Stampin’ Up!’s new Paper Doilies are the perfect accent for any focal image, especially those that are feminine or vintage.  My preference is to cut them in half.  Tip:  To increase the opacity, double the doilies!
  • Paper plus! The Tea for Two Designer Series Paper collection is one of my favorites from the Spring Catalog.  It contains a mix of fabulous colors, fabulous patterns, and even fabulous images, such as this Box of Tea!
  • Blingin’ bloom! What could be lovelier than a flower from Stippled Blossoms? That same flower wearing bling!  After inking the Blossom with So Saffron and stamping the Stippled Overlay in Calypso Coral, I “painted” the coral sections with Multipurpose Liquid Glue, and liberally sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter.  Three Basic Rhinestones are the perfect center accent.

I will be the first to admit that I have fallen in love with Calypso Coral, largely because of the Tea for Two Designer Series Paper collection.  I can only hope that this In-Color will be brought back after it retires this year, along with Pool Party.  I just may have to stock up on it!

I am anxious to hear what you think of today’s card.   And how about you…is there an In-Color you will hate to see retire? Won’t you let me know in your comment?  Your comments are important to me, and I do read each and every one of them.  And remember, if you have a question about the cards I create or the the techniques I use, I am an only an email away! I will leave you with a picture that I took Saturday afternoon, and one from Lexi’s first day at our house.  On these cold and snowy days, Lexi still loves to play “snuggle-bunny” with her big brother Brody!  Until next time…
