Guy Greetings for The Paper Players

IMG_1463The Paper Players are back this week with a sketch challenge hosted by the talented Jaydee.  After having created several clean and simple cards these past few weeks, I just had to get back to my roots and create something a little distressed and vintage.  What better choice than the masculine set, Guy Greetings, from the Occasions Catalog! Enjoy!pp229

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
This finished card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.

  • World’s Greatest snipper! The “World’s Greatest” banner was hand-snipped and popped up on dimensionals.  Of course, I just had to use the World Map pattern from the Typeset Designer Series Paper collection for the background!

IMG_1463-001

  • Paper-snipped pugelist!  The vintage boxer was lightly tinted using a Blender Pen with Blushing Bride and Island Indigo inks.  He was then popped atop a houndstooth textured circle.  Although the Houndstooth Textured Impressions Embossing Folder is retired, I just happened to have a piece of Cajun Craze cardstock which had been embossed a few years ago and never used.  I was saving it for just the right card.  Since I loved how it coordinated with the Houndstooth patterned paper from the Adventure Bound stack, I decided it had found its new home.

  • Touches of texture! 1-1/4″ Burlap Ribbon and 1/4″ Island Indigo Cotton Ribbon add a wonderful touch of texture.  Plus, I found a new home for one of my last retired faux wood buttons.  Woo hoo!IMG_1463-003

I love the look of Island Indigo with Cajun Craze, especially when Early Espresso is added to the mix. And I really LOVE this set.  I can’t wait to ink it up again.

I am going to leave you today with a picture of Muffy and her new bed.  Many of you have asked about Muffy, and if she was going to have puppies any time soon.  Well… it’s almost time for her to visit the bakery! She was sleeping so soundly when I snapped this picture…I’m sure she was thinking about the “Dog of Her Dreams”!IMG_1465Unfortunately, I will not be attending Stampin’ Up!’s Leadership next week, because family comes first.  Instead of Orlando, Muffy and I will be heading out to meet her Canadian “Prince Charming”.  Please keep your fingers crossed I can negotiate the traffic, and that Muffy approves of the handsome young man she will be meeting.  For those of you who will be going to Leadership, I wish you safe travels.  I will miss seeing you…

As always, if you have any questions about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away.  Until next time…

Built for Free Using: My Stampin Blog

January Lesson of the Month – New Format

PicMonkey CollageWelcome to the new and improved Lesson of the Month! I have been offering my Lessons of the Month for over a year now.  As my students know, the cards I create are labor intensive, filled with details, paper snipping, and use some pretty cool techniques.  In fact, I love that my PDF lessons are more than just product lists and dimensions.  They are filled with theory and helpful hints, too.  But the task of creating 90 sample cards each month was overwhelming.  I decided if I was going to be able to continue to offer my lessons, I was going to have to make some changes, or teach the Boxers how to stamp.  Since I seriously doubted Muffy, Brody and Lexi were going to be much help in that respect, I revamped  my lessons.

IMG_6299Not much is changing…you still receive a stamp set,  a comprehensive tutorial with full color pictures, and three videos.  It is still like stampin’ with me in my kitchen!  What is different is you will only receive one completed sample…but you WILL receive the “makings” to make all three cards.  You will need to use your new stamp, inks, and adhesives,  but I will supply you with pre-cut cardstock and designer paper, as well as punched items.  How fun will it be for you to stamp and assemble while reading your tutorial and watching the video!

Card #1:  Faux Gilding Technique

What this month’s lesson includes….

  • Butterfly Basics Stamp Set in photopolymer  (137154, $23.95).  If you already have this set, I will gladly substitute another stamp set at the same value, $23.95 or less.  IF you prefer wood or clear, I can adjust the price of the class accordingly.
  • 1 Completed Sample Card.  The sample card this month is Card #1: The Gilded Beauty.
  • Pre-cut cardstock, pre-cut designer series paper, ribbon and twine for you to make one of each design.  You will need to use your own new stamps, inks, adhesives, and pearls.
  • A step-by-step PDF tutorial which contains a product list with item numbers, cutting dimensions, helpful hints and plenty of pictures to guide you along the way.
  • A private video for each card, for a total of three videos.  On lucky days, you may hear a Boxer or two!
  • And don’t forget, for every third lesson in which you participate, you receive a bonus gift from me valued between $3.95 and $6.95.

The cost for all of this is $34.95.  Are you ready to enroll this month? Just send an email to ann@thestampinschach.com. I will send you a PayPal invoice within 24 hours.  This month’s deadlines are:
